Christianity was the original religon. Almost every religon was formed from christianity. Each belief came from some form of christians. Everyone believes something different about where religons came from, but if you look back far enough or where each religon was formed they all stemed off of christianity

By the same token, every language stems from modern German. Also, scientists have identified the universal common ancestor. Turns out it's Mesohippus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution_of_the_Horse ).
I'm extremely curious as to how Buddhism and the beliefs of the ancient Greeks (to name but two) are descended from Christianity.
Ignorance is one thing, but ignorance of ones own religion to this degree is astounding.
I'd be curious to hear Pinky explain exactly how religions with elements of ancestor worship, animism or pantheism stem from Christian beliefs.
Bear's Law - The more fundamentalist one's theology, the lower one's intelligence.
I used to be amazed by how Christianity is accepted by so many with nearly complete ignorance of the contents and history of the bible, and the history of Christianity. I am no longer amazed.
I thought Chuck Norris was the original deity? Didn't he create the earth with a roundhouse kick in the ass of all non-matter? Chuck Norris could dodge your god's miracles and go in and knock his head off with a karate chop! And remeber, Chuck Norris is always watching you (if you can see him, he can see you; if you can't see him, you may be moments from death).
<<< Almost every religon was formed from christianity. >>>
Except for the several that predate Christianity, and those that have little in common that can't be shown to have been stolen *by* Christianity, not *from* it ...
Hmmm, given that there's 20,000 recognised Gods, most of which predate Christianity, and Christianity only recognises three of them...
Yeah, cause it's not like Jesus "borrowed" from Buddah, leading some historians to believe he may have spent some or most of his childhood in the far east, thus accounting for his "lost" childhood/adolesence/young adulthood..the 30 year gap.
@King Jones: Of course, the borders between sects, heresies, and offspring religions are fuzzy, but Swedenborgianism would be an example. Also Mormonism, if you count that as a separate religion.
Bogomilism and Catharism are normally considered Christian heresies, but they were *very* distant from mainstream Christianity. Certainly more so than Mormonism.
Also, Islam drew from both Judaism and Christianity, and Jesus is recognized as a prophet. So, Islam too.
Are they going to argue that Judaism somehow *stemmed from* Christianity, though? o_O
And if the King's English was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for Pinky. Right, Pinky?
This definitely deserves an award of some sort -- "Bizarre Fundie Assertion" Award or "History Revisionist" Award, perhaps; neither of these conveys the truly amazing depths of ignorance in this post, but it's doubtful that anything could.

You've got to be kidding me. Someone needs a dose of historical reality. As far as I know, the oldest religion on earth (other than small tribal or indigenous religions) is hinduism, and it predates judaism by a good thousand years, at least. Christianity is only 2 thousand years old, and is pre-dated by many religions: judaism, zoroastrianism, various pagan religions, hinduism, buddhism, taoism, and that's just a partial list. What kind of an idiot do you have to be to believe this type of crap?
Try as I might, I can't find these in my KJV. Can you help?
a) The profoundly morbid fascination with blood of Inca rituals
b) The Indian temples where gods and goddesses fornicate every which way then some
c) The animism of tribal cultures all over the world
Thanks in advance.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the ignorance.
Read some history, dumbass. No, not homeschooled history, real history.
actually christianity stems from ancient greek and egyptian sun worship. The story of Jesus is almost identical to that of Dionysus, Horus, Buddha and Shiva and all of them are metaphors for the sun and the astrological signs of the zodiac.
note the use of language: 'jesus is the SON (SUN) of god', 'the LIGHT of the world' and we are saved because 'he is RISEN'. How about the imagery: jesus is often depicted with rays of light surrounding him, he wears a crown of thorns (symbolic of sunrays, in ancient art the sun is often pictured wearing a similar crown) and fish are often a symbol of christianity (The time of Jesus is also known as the age of PISCES). It goes on and on, if you are really interested I'm sure you can find more of this stuff on the intertubes.
If you really do the research you find that christianity is based almost entirely on primitive pagan beliefs, and those areas that arent pagan are borrowed from many different mythologies. hardly the original religion, More like the world's most famous remake.
Pretty much the opposite, especially since you've tried to stomp the newer ones into the ground and have been fairly successful ( still bitchin' about Wiccan. although in Europe it's twice the age of Christianity )
As you get into Europe and the mederitannian you find much older beliefs and you will find followers to this day (oh, they may not be serious about it but neither are most Christians)
Ever heard of Judaism? The religion your Christ followed?
Christianity is only about 2000 years old, but people have been evolved enough to believe in fairy tales for hundreds of thousand of years.
OK, I'm looking back far enough to see Lucy the Australopithecus. Did she believe in Christ?
So this genius looks at the Old Testament, sitting side-by-side with the New Testament, and he can't figure out which one came first?
Thank you Pinky, that will be all.

What about Judaism? Mesoamerican beliefs? Hinduism?

List! What is yon sound in the distance? Why, it's the sound of all the Professors of History, Geography and Theology in the world laughing their tits off at you, Derpy!
Christianity the oldest religion? It seems to me the more they try to prove their religions superiority, the more they shoot themselves in the foot and look in mirrors.
Okay, Pinky, ever hear of:
Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, Pantheism, Druidism, Animism, ancestor worship, and finally, Judaism?
You have? Good. Shut up.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
