Quote# 114518

Media outlets have been fooled by a joke photo long in circulation into believing that a Photoshopped picture of notorious anti-GamerGate critic Veerender Jubbal was one of the suspects responsible for the recent Paris terrorist attacks that occurred on Friday.

Other users have also attempted to defend Jubbal and create awareness about the hoax.
But a large majority of the internet has found the situation hilarious, especially due to the irony of Jubbal’s previous comments that have painted entire innocent communities as terrorists and hate-mongers.

Luckily for Jubbal, there are many women that love serial killers and the foulest dregs of society serving life sentences, so an online reputation as a suicide bomber should be more than enough to earn him the female company that so far has eluded him.

Thinking Allowed

Personally Charlie, I think it's sickening that Gamer Gaters have tried to use a tragedy to try and silence a critic. That is truly scraping bottom of the barrel.

See, the 'entire innocent communities' thing would be pretty damning, but the context makes me suspect that he's talking about GamerGate. Still, some greater context would be nice.

Oh Em Gee

People are still starting shit in the name of GamerGate? Move on already, FFS.

@Thinking Allowed
So technically, they're violating his right to free speech? How ironic....

rubber chicken

How is this fundy ?

11/18/2015 10:10:13 PM

Ah, GamerGate - shrieking ethics and that people are trying to "silence" them, and then they turn around and go do this.

You guys on Breitbart are the dregs of society. Nobody would miss you, just like nobody missed your namesake, the cruel, lying and callous old fart.

11/18/2015 11:10:51 PM

... except the guy who 'fessed up to making the hoax photo has denied having anything to do with GamerGate.

With that said, it's easy enough to appreciate the irony mentioned in the article considering the "GamerGate = ISIS or worse" rhetoric peddled around at some point.

11/19/2015 12:37:02 AM

not fundie. though maybe a bit daft.

11/19/2015 1:23:58 AM

Certainly darndest.

I didn't even think that the attack on Jubbal had anything to do with Gamergate, though it wouldn't have been outside of the realm of possibility for a Gamergater to have done something like that - it's not too much of a stretch from their current activities.

The fact that Gamergaters are laughing and saying that the guy deserved it for being a critic of Gamergate, is enough to confirm for the 50th time what sort of twisted movement Gamergate is.

11/19/2015 1:39:57 AM

Try reading. It's not for being a critic, its for being one of those critics who were calling gamer gate terrorists. Hence irony, hence laughter.

I am starting to get a little depressed by the literacy level here.

turd_wartsniff, who created the image, may have denied having anything to do with GamerGate, but he has also created, according to this Vice article:

"a series of images, Photoshopped and otherwise, attacking Gamergate opponents. Among this individual's favourite targets are Arthur Chu, Anita Sarkeesian and Zoë Quinn... The account also posted images containing the Gamergate logo, a purple and green "GG" badge, and the Gamergate cartoon character Vivian James."

Though I haven't seen the account myself, and I suppose pro-GamerGate people could always accuse Vice of lying, or of being in the bag for those pernicious SJWs, eh.

@ darkevilmeme - feel free to fuck off, then. Nobody's forcing you to stay here, just like nobody's forcing anybody to buy games they don't like. Losers.

I can only assume you're one of the illiterates here, seen as you took that comment so personally.

Get ye to remedial education.

Doubting Thomas

Can we move on from Gamergate? We have more important things to focus on, like Benghazi.

11/19/2015 8:35:17 AM

Doubting Thomas:
We probably should. Many gaming journalism websites have updated their ethics policies (or started having some) and the war of the mainstream gaming press on their own audience has failed.

So gamer gate has achieved its goals. It has no reason to continue to exist. Although I suppose having an official end to a hashtag is kinda tricky to do.

Ah yes, framing someone as a mass murderer is totally legit as long as they hurt your fee-fees.

Obvious troll is obvious.

11/19/2015 12:43:11 PM

I'm pretty sure the guy who made that photoshop was just a troll. I never liked the double-standard that Gamergate is responsible for everyone who attacks Anti-GGers when Feminists, Social Justice Advocates, Religious groups, etc. can invoke the No True Scotsman's Fallacy all they want.

Women who love suicide bombers?
... Necrophilia?

That's heresy. GamerGate is responsible for everything bad that its critics have said about it. The truth is irrelevant when the enemy is a threat to women's lives everywhere.
