The thing about seeing it on the Discovery Channel, sad as it seems, may very well be true. Have you noticed all the recent pseudoscience and pseudohistory on documentaries recently? I mean, there was an hour-long "documentary" (mainly just mindless speculation) on the History Channel about the Anti-Christ.
What this statement proves is that:

The Biblical references to unicorns are an artifact of the age when the particular versions were created. Unicorns generally only appear in translations of the middle ages such as the KJV and the Geneva Bible. In the Masoretic Text and other more ancient translations the animal references are to dogs, wild oxen, and other mundane creatures.

Floral Dora, thanks for the heads-up. Darn Poe's Law! And darn trolls and fakers (on both sides) for muddying the waters. Some days, I wonder (rather hopefully, I admit) if the majority of the really crazy posts here aren't just the product of rampant trolling. That's probably just wishful thinking, though.

Oddly enough, I know a guy named Re'em. His parents named him well: he is about as strong as a bull.
Actually, the fundie is correct about the goats. There is a way of manipulating a goat's horns from a young age to fuse them into one, with the result having a very vague resemblance to a unicorn. Doesn't make god any more real.
