[Pete expresses his outrage at a pro-abortion article that he read on THE ONION]
To sum it up, Miss Weber said:
"I realize there are people who will criticize me, calling me selfish and immature because I took "the easy way out." I realize there are those who will condemn me to hell for what I'm about to do. Well, I don't care what they say: It's worth it for all the fun and laughs I'm going to have at the clinic. So listen up, world: I'm pro-abortion... and I love it! See you at my post-abortion party, everybody!"
Miss Weber, you have killed your child, which you admit is a baby/human being, intentionally. That does make you an admitted murderer. I'm not going to "condemn you to hell", I'm going to pray for your forgiveness and for the suffering which you will endure when you realize what you have done. Every baby you see from that moment on is going to wake you up to the realization that you killed your child.

We-ll, this is sort of the pot and kettle, don't you think? I mean, I'm pro-choice, but I certainly wouldn't going around saying I'm having a "post-abortion party". Two fundies crossing streams??
BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
GAWD, I hope that comment was also a fake. I can not IMAGINE a person so stupid that they would think "The Onion" is real.
I mean, come ON! The current headline over on The Onion is how a lifejacket was issued to all American citizens!
I wanna know where my damn lifejacket is!!!
You'd be surprised, I think there's an article in Snopes about how fundies use an Onion article as exhibit A to prove Harry Potter is Satanic
If that's the case, we have proof there is no God.
Conclusive proof, once again, that religious fundamentalists have absolutely NO sense of humor whatsoever.
That, and they can't tell sarcasm from shit.
Heh, I enjoyed how, rather than just admitting he had egg all over his face, cleaning up the mess, and moving on, he has been loudly declaring how there is no such thing as eggs, and even if there were, he couldn't possibly have any on HIM.
I like how he goes on to say that the author of the satire must actually believe the message in the SATIRE. How obvious is it that he has no bloody clue what the word "satire" means, despite the fact that he insists on putting the word in quotes...
I enjoy how he defends himself by saying that he has met people just like the "woman" in the satire...the old PUATA ploy...(that's "Personal Undocumented Anecdotal Trump Argument" for those of ya not in the know...)
First he posts about the Miss Weber story in the 'Onion', then, after being told he was duped, attempts to cover his ass by quoting a story of somebody who was obviously fucking with him, agreeing with his crazed 'comparisons' about strangling a toddler because they were being annoying. He was shocked and sickened by the comments, not thinking for a second that this one person and their sarcastic responses could be anything but the average pro-choicer. The last time I checked the comments on his site there were well over 600 comments, most telling him what a dumbass he is, and some, which I fear were NOT all satire, that told him that he made excellent points and mission accomplished. It is so funny I'll be reading it for days. The children of god sure don't have a lot of faith in his creatures.
Alright, Pete is now the official failure of the internet, now he's decided that all who sent him e-mails telling him he's a dumbass and such are infringing on his first amendment rights, then he made sure no one could leave comments on his page ever again, and deleted all pre-existing comments like a true 1st amendment supporter.

<< He now claims that HIS ARTICLE WAS A JOKE. >>

I love it! If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you ever tried in the first place -- or, better yet, try to turn the tables and claim that it wasn't YOU who couldn't get someone else's joke, but EVERYONE ELSE who couldn't see that YOU were joking. Riiiiiiiiiight.
The inherent hypocrisy of this is so archetypically fundie. It's right up there with people who are so outraged by abortion that they scream for the execution of anyone connected with one.

Yikes.
In response to all the humiliating attention he has been getting, he put up a...photograph on the site everyone is linking to. He claims that this photo is of an aborted fetus, but he has failed again. This is not the first time I, personally, have seen this picture, and although it is extremely graphic and disturbing, it is highly doubtful that it truly represents an actual aborted fetus. This photo has been in dispute for awhile, with few medical professionals accepting that it is what "Pete" is claiming. It most likely is a tragic, late-term miscarriage.
I wish I could say that him responding in this way surprises me, but it doesn't.
What really cracks me up is the "ancient spell to summon Cerebus, the three-headed hound of hell" part in the Onion article on Harry Potter: imagine trying to summon a 3-headed hellhound and getting an anthropomorphic Aardvark instead ^_^"
The "the Bible is nothing but boring lies" part, OTOH, is pretty dead on :P
Salon interviewed Pete.
Best quote: "Christ tapped me on the shoulder and said, 'Are you ready?' and I said, 'Yeah,' and then my wife said, 'I'm coming home,' and I said, 'Great!'"
I hate to admit this, but an old buddy of mine also thought that an Onion article was real once.
I showed him the old Onion artitle titled "Apple Employee Fired for Thinking Different," and he immediately defended Apple Computer's actions.
Well, I was going to say that maybe this guy was misled but he is WELL AWARE that he is quoting a satyre. Honestly, he is doing NO FAVOUR to his cause, like the one of Harry Potter.
Very serious is indeed, not so much whether he confused the facts but WHY. Maybe the article was so mirrowing what he wanted to believe of the pro-choice side, that he sees what he wants to see. Worse off, he probably doesn´t know what the Onion really is. Bear in mind that they only read "Christian" stuff.
Haha. Idiot got pwnt by the Onion.
Satire

Seriously, "The Monthly Call for Life"? Is that a reference to periods? Dude, we don't crave to be impregnated every 28 days. Do get with the times.
Really?
You took *anything* that was in The Onion at all seriously?
Dear gods, it's worse than I thought. Quick, nurse, get this man a brain, stat!!
I call Poe on Miss Weber. No-one (or at least very, very few) who's actually had to go through an abortion would thing of it as "the easy way out".
It's pro-choice, not pro-abortion, stupid Pete. It's not a child until it can sustain life outside the womb on its own.
Edit. Oh, I did not see it was from the Onion. Then the Poe is rather redundant...
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
