MCrow:
I know many Christians who are decent folk who dedicate themselves to simple lives helping the poor and downtrodden. Those Christians I respect and admire. However, most I think would be good decent people without Christianity. When one can use the Bible to justify slavery, oppression, and beating children, I view it as not being objectively a good thing.

Jerome Horowitz (aka Jason Todd)
Real Christians read the Bible and understand what it says. You won't see one in Joel Osteen's church, in Fred Phelps's church, Rick Warren's church. You will at First Baptist Church of Hammond, IN.

MCrow:
Aye, and no true Scotsman puts sugar on his porridge.
Frankly, I don’t overmuch care what a true Christian is. I judge a person on their individual actions. I see people use the Bible to justify beating children, excuse rape, and silence minorities, all with verses and scripture. You can say they are not “true Christians,” but what is being done to stop them?

Jerome Horowitz/Jason Todd:
No True Scotsman doesn't apply as there is no open definition for Christianity.
Intelligence FAIL.

MCrow:
Oh, dear. Borrowing from Amos, are we? I assume you mean ‘a definition open to interpretation,’ and there I’m going to ask a simple question: then what’s with all the denominations and church splitting? The term “heresy” is one coined in the western world to explain what is “true” Christianity and what isn’t. And if it is not open to interpretation, by all means, do tell: what is the one true definition of a Christian?

Jerome Horowitz/Jason Todd:
