[reply in thread titled "People against LGBT rights, what are the reasons you feel this way other than religious beliefs?"]
Bad for society due to lack of reproduction. I honestly would not have a problem with gay people if they acted like they used to. Get married, have a family, be normal, and maybe do gay shit on the weekends with the boys.
Another big problem I have is that homosexual acceptance, and the backlash of homophobia, has led to a world where male bonding is not really accepted like it used to be. Nowadays anytime two young men do something affectionate, they have to endure jeers from their friends about whether they are gay or not. Some of the young men may get so confused they start acting gay because everyone is saying they are gay. This didn't used to happen. Men should be able to effeminate sometimes without being accused of homosexuality. Like Liberace, he was super gay, but it was a massive surprise for people when he came out, this is how it should be. Sexuality should not be a defining factor of one's identity.

Um, news flash. For the last 50 years, to my certain knowledge, this has been true, no matter how society viewed gays in general. Didn't need to be affectionate, you were teased for touching, leaning towards, looking at or knowing an intimate detail about another man.
Kids jeer. It's what kids do. Legalizing SSM won't change that very quickly.

Exactly what do you think is 'acting gay?' And why are you blaming it on your peers? I believe you might be confused, but it's not because of name-calling.
You are championing that people LIVE A LIE as being better than if they were honest, with themselves, their family, their fans, the world. That's not a good thing, really. Far better to accept honest disclosure. For one thing, it's easier to keep the facts straight than to coordinate lies.

I am a woman. I never could have children. Does that mean marriage is out for me regardless if I want to marry a man or a woman? What of women who are pass their child bearing years? Are they no longer to qualify as being able to marry as well? Then there's the sterile men. I guess they can't marry either.
The only thing I see here going on is that Phil is using the whole reproducing reasoning to excuse his homophobia.
Oh, and I missed that first sentence...they actually think LGBT rights will result in more gay people, resulting in less reproduction?
(Anyway, wouldn't a little less reproduction be a good thing?)
Um, I don't think anyone was surprised when Liberace came out.
Nice of you to assume that all gays act alike. Maybe you need to be introduced to a few bears, as well as a few gay professional sports players.
gay shit on the weekends
Nice band name you got there.
Oh good one, PlasticPill, I think you're off your meds. I'm glad that gay people don't HAVE to act like they used to, all closeted because that gay shit could have landed the boys in prison.
Surely you've heard all the jokes they make, about male bonding. I think that straight men play football, sometimes, so they have an excuse to exuberantly hug each other.

I remember a little interlude in the woods that took place long before the gay marriage debate: Several men and I were sitting around a fire. They were drinking to their success - but, much as I liked them, I never got pass-out drunk with them. It just seemed unwise.
One guy was especially happy and tried to give the person next to him a big hug. The second guy raised his hand, palm out, and warned his overjoyed friend: 'The only time I'm hugging a guy is if his arm is off or something. Fuck off.'
Moral: A lot of guys have never been comfortable showing physical affection toward each other. The more common acceptance of homosexuality, if it changes that at all, it will probably be toward a greater degree of tolerance rather than less.
@Keith
Plus, normalisation of homosexuality would make it less outlying, more boring and less of thing to make fun of people for. So there would be a decrease in jeering.
Also the weird fundie double idea of gays breeding: if gays are allowed to be people, they will have children who are gay
Who in turn will have no children because they are gay...?
Also forcing people into the closet just means they end up deceiving their future spouses who then get a dishonest and sexually frustrating marriage. Who wins?
Like i woulden't want to marry a lesbian and find out in 10 or 20 years that she hated the 5 times we had sex during our relationship, that would make me feel like shit.
Concerning all this stuff involving Homophobia, Transphobia or whatever, I wanted to discuss something....
What's the real deal with people like Milo Yiannopoulos, Blaire White and Diamonds & Silk?
All three are these far-right types yet they belong to demographics the far-right hates AND they are out-and-proud about being those things while saying they hate it.
Milo is a flamboyantly gay man who's very out-and-proud and "flamin'" and revels in being super-gay....while being anti-gay and such.
Blaire is a similar situation to Milo except she's a very pretty trans woman.
Diamonds & Silk are these two really stereotypical black women who are loud and black but support Trump and policies that screw people like them over.
People like this always baffled me. Their existence confounds me. What's the psychology behind these people?
I know it's tokenism but tokens usually try to either stay closeted or act "Conservative". A gay conservative man would do all he can to look as bland and masculine as possible....Not be a prettyboy twink who prances out in an explosion of rainbow-glitter and wild clothing and go "Heeeeyyyy! I'm sooooo GAAAAAYYYYY AND FABULOUS....But I hate gay stuff despite being a stereotype!".
I don't understand it. I have yet to find a psychologist who explains it.
ANYONE GOT ANY THEORIES?

"ANYONE GOT ANY THEORIES?"
Uhm...good old-fashioned stupidity, maybe?

I guess Milo, Blaire and Diamond & Silk don't believe a think they say and are just doing what they do for trolling, fun & profit. They believe in no one but "Me, Myself & I". They're narcissistic Antisocials who are attention-whores.
Confused?
