Quote# 141407

Since salvation is by an act of God, the raising to life those dead in sin, then it is not a requirement that sinners are persuaded of the truth of the gospel by the arguments we present.

Equally, the Resurrection could be described as a stumbling block, for how can a dead man rise from the dead? Are you therefore going to omit the resurrection because it is a stumbling block to belief?

Evolution is not 'the best fit for the facts', for it fits none of the facts of science. We do not see any malleability of life at the highest level, all we see is minor changes. There has been an experiment under way since February 1988 to measure Evolution in the E. coli bacteria. Although they claim to have to have seen Evolution in reality there has been none. The E. coli remain E. coli.

We are called to proclaim the whole council of God, not just those things that seem reasonable to our hearers.

We are going to discount the "resurrection" until you find some evidence for it. Meanwhile we will continue to find evidence for evolution, just as you earnestly try not to look at it.

You fundies claim that your J-boy was your 'God' in human form.

Ramses II was worshipped as a god. If you want us to accept your claims purely on spec - i.e. 'Faith' - then who are you lot to say that he wasn't a deity; indeed: you equally have to accept he was a god. [/'Teach the Controversy']

Temples, stelae, artefacts etc proven to have been owned by/built for him.

A DNA-analysable body does ol' Ramses' existence case no harm: thus conclusive proof that he did exist.

Your move, Fartin.

Evidence proves that minor member of the Kray Twins gang Jack 'The Hat' McVitie existed. Hideous things were done to him by Reggie Kray: even his liver fell out of his body, he was so brutally stabbed to death, it was flushed down the toilet. His body was never found.

So did he Resurrect & go to Heaven...?!

Nylon-eating bacteria. Can't have existed before the substance itself (which doesn't appear in nature) was developed. Still exist. Must have therefore evolved. Enough said.

Oh and the rest of your drivel, Martin, is just the usual goal-post-moving creationists are known for. "Oh we just keep our definition of "kinds" as vague as possible so that we can always state that no actual change happened." That's not how that works though.

Evolution is the basis for modern Biology. The fact that we need new flu vaccines almost every year is a clear sign of evolution at work.
Evolution is minor changes from one generation to the next. Over time, the changes add up to larger changes.

The dog is on the way to speciation, but for now, the dog remains Canis Lupus (i.e. a wolf).

The E. coli remain E. coli.

E. Coli is defined by the inability to metabolize citrate. These new bacteria metabolize citrate, so no.

We are called to describe all of reality, not just those things that agree with your fairy tales.

Evolution is not 'the best fit for the facts', for it fits none of the facts of science.

I don't know what the hell he thinks "fits the facts of science" means, but it IS a fact of science.

Nylon-eating bacteria.

Next question.

Another thing: Creationists have the whole concept of "species" backwards. That concept is NOT a fundamental part of nature, but only an imperfect description that we humans came up with to categorize lifeforms. That's also the reason why we need so many different species definitions for different problems and observations and why the creationist definition of "kinds" is so vague and devoid of meaning. Plato was wrong about life being ruled by essentialism, but creationists nowadays, 2000 years later, still try to keep that idea alive (wonder what they would say once they'd realize that it doesn't actually originally stem from the bible).
