Quote# 141454

Do women actually engage in the fandom or use this board. It seems like a least 95% of people who call themselves apart of this fandom and just about any other fandom are male, and most who identify as female in the fandom end up being mtf of role-players

Why are there so few women in this and other fandoms. What are you thoughts.

Do dykes and landwhales count?

Yeah there are alot of fandoms with lots of women, homestuck for example. You are probably either just in a very closed off environment, ignoring actual reality, or both.

AH! My Little Pony!

This from a forum for a cartoon that is feminist and progressive and originally targeted towards little girls but made to appeal to anyone of all ages (cuz it's that good!). "Brony Misogyny" makes no sense.

I feel the same about wingnutty Star Wars or Star Trek fans.

Of course; Some jerks have spent 2000 years spreading war, misogyny, witch hunts, pogroms, imperialism, genocide and general mayhem in the name of a more pacifist, love & charity-centered offshoot of Judaism.

I know any number of women in the fandom, with wildly different ways of going about things, from a poly woman whose lover made me a little knit pony doll in thanks for writing things they love reading out loud to a submissive who has been a fascinating conversation partner on topics like consensual slavery and RACK vs SSC.

But they hang out with normal people. Not your kind.
