Before Heavy Metal there was nothing. In ancient times, battle hymns would inspire and lead many legions of Romans, Barbarians, Vikings and other warriors into battle. Then, of course, came the classical masters such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Wagner, whose expertise in song structure, time changes, counterpoint, melodies, harmonies, etc, is reflected in the brilliance and power that is Heavy Metal music. In these modern times, the one and only musical form that contains the virtues of honour, strength, testosterone and pride needed to lead us proud warriors of today into battle is Heavy Metal. Metal is powerful, glorious and truly elite.

Hip-Hop/Rap caters to uneducated and mindless robots who are slaves to a destructive criminal trend. Punk, Hardcore and Indie Rock are degenerate and subversive forms of brainwashing. This shit exists for the sole purpose of emasculating our United States of America and promoting an agenda of faggotry and Marxism. We shall never allow ourselves to be influenced by the lies that have been forced upon us by these leftist traitors. These parasites and their nauseating way of life demand everything of this world, but offer nothing of value in return. May they all DIE IN PAIN!

You ruined it, I was going to mention Rob Halford, the Metal God! But, thanks for it anyway, it needed mentioning in light of this crap.

And yeah, if Lemmy had met these bastards he might have tossed them out all on his own . . . even from their own show . . . if they talked shit like this to his face.

And damn, the very vast array of all that fits under the heavy metal umbrella would leave these pricks astounded if they listened to anything other than their own narrow view of greatness, along with the connection of each in the vast array not only to traditional marches and classical music, but Blues, soul music, and even country (yes, you better believe some country).

Trey Azagthoth, guitarist of one of the most well-known of US Death Metal bands. Favorite guitarists? Jimmy Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen.

Take a listen at early 90s era Corrosion of Conformity, or Death Angel anywhere in their career and hear the Blues (not inspired, actual Blues!) passages they incorporated.

One of the best covers ever, Disturbed's version of The Sound of Silence.

Beatles going from bubblegum pop to sort of hard rock, and on the White Album doing more than Led Zeppelin to establish what is Heavy Metal in the first place! Don't believe, check them out.

And as far as "faggotry", once again . . . think of how many metal musicians have come out as gay . . . and then think of how long it took them. I think you'll get from this how many out now probably are gay or bisexual, and rock harder than any pissant bitch running scared from a lisp.

There's probably a reason for that; Skrewdriver started out as a legitimate, non-bigoted punk band. They didn't become Hitler-freaks until a few personnel changes and the lead singer revealing his bigoted views.

Heck; The same concerns skinheads. REAL skinheads are left-leaning, non-bigoted, working-class British proto-punkers and Reggae & Ska fans. There were even black skinheads.

Skinheads, like Pepe The Frog, were Lefty things usurped by bigoted wingnuts.

At least the Punk genre hasn't been usurped by wingnuts.

Concerning music that would be good if the lyrics weren't so awful....I feel the same way about several old pop/rock/soul tunes as well as really hard Metal music genres. Remove the "Cookie Monster/Pig Squeal" stuff and Black/Death/Whatever-metal would be a lot more tolerable.

I would like to make a suggestion, as far as heavier sub-genres of metal, give a shot to Opeth, Death, Otep, and Fear Factory.

Mikael's voice for Opeth runs a lot to growls and some screams, but it's on-key at all times, and amazingly clean, and his actual clean vocals are beautiful. They also mix in a lot of lighter fare, and some acoustic work.

Older Death you may not be so hot on, but from Spiritual Healing onward, they were incorporating a much more progressive sound to their music, and Chuck's voice matured quite a bit, though was still a high growl.

Otep runs the gamut from very light, close to folk, up to some of the heaviest death metal ever made. And even mixes in a lot of hip-hop influence, as well as actually rapping in several songs, especially earlier on. Even when she sings clean rather than growling, her voice sounds strong and vicious, with very few exceptions, and all sound wonderful. She also sings quite possibly the best song calling on kids not to kill themselves, ever.

For Fear Factory, best to remember they always described themselves as extreme alternative, and they are one of the few who can call themselves alternative without sounding like assholes, because they really are different in so many ways. Yes, again, growls, as well as beautiful high clean vocals mixed in, all from Burton C. Bell.

Best part, none of them sound like squealing pigs at any point, unlike the singer for Job for a Cowboy quite specifically does on their first EP! And the growls are nothing like cookie monster trying to sing.
