IMO Christians should not give any crediblity to false religions by citing their beliefs. God wants all of His children to be followers of His Son, Jesus Christ. Hindus, Buddhist, Mormons, Muslims, Jews, and all the other non Christian religions are not followers of His Son. To a Christian those are all false religions, and should not be taken seriously unless they become a threat. It does not matter if a particular religion was around long before Christianity. When Jesus came to earth, all other religions became void.
Any amount of time a Christian spends studying false religions is stealing time away from God. Any amount of time Christians spend time in conversing with others on any false religion has stolen time away from the Christian's great calling of evangelism.

Oh, and are you suggesting that other religions (setting aside pre-rabbinical Judaism) were once valid?
It's funny, if God is all almighty and wants all his children to follow his son, why only 20% of the humankind or less follows him?, what is he going to do with his so-called "chosen peole"(Jewish, do you remember?)and the ones who came before him?. And of course all religions should be taken seriously............otherwise, evangelising is void. Or do you think the missionaries stay in a corner and wait for God to send them the people?
So, his very son was sinning. D'you know?, Jesus Christ spent 90% of his time hanging out with a Pagan(the Roman soldier)and discussing "false religion" with Greek-Syrians, like the lady who asked him for the healing of her daughter.
And when you understand why you don't believe in Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, etc., you may be able to understand why I don't believe in your God/Jesus.

Funny how you know nothing about any religion. I doubt you even know your own. Mormons are Christians. They follow the same bible as many others. They believe in Jesus Christ and his teachings. As for the other religions? They believe in the same God. Just a different prophet. It's ignorance such as yours that starts religious wars. Btw, Christianity isn't a religion. Christians are many people from many different religions. (Mormons, as it happens, are a large part.) Please learn about things before you open your mouth and sound like a complete idiot. Not to mention how we should all learn about different religions to better able to understand and accept one another and have a greater tolerance. It's people who don't know, or are unwilling, (such as yourself) that make the fundies site possible.

But it kind of makes it funnier to know that the Book of Mormon is kind of a bible 'knock-off'--john smith used it as the basis for his 'revelation' but switched letters of the names around to make it look more um, authentic? It even includes a 'book of ether' instead of 'esther'. hilarious:)

So I see that God wants us all to be ignorant of even more subjects. Add geography and sociology to science and math, which have been covered earlier. Even if these "false religions" have one god. With lines like, "In the name of God, the compassionate, the merciful." Qu'ran 1:1, they should get along with any open-minded fundie (if we can find one.)
So, what, Zeus and Odin and Bast and all the rest just threw up their hands and said, "Hell, guys, we had a good run. Really, we did. But I guess it's time to make room for the younger generation..."?
I never have understood how people can claim that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is not a Christian church. I mean, it's right there in the name of the religion. Admittedly, names aren't everything. Witness the USA PATRIOT Act. Still, in this case, a large part of the religion revolves around the idea that there were people in the Americas and that Jesus visited them after He was crucified. How is that not Christian?
Of course, they always parade out the bit at the end of the Revelation, but they always seem to forget that there's a passage in Deuteronomy with almost exactly the same wording.

Well you'll love the fact that I'm dating a hindu now! Not only is he more tolerant than alot of Christians, he's also more loving towards ME as a person, and as a woman. And you're telling me Hinduism has no credibility. Try reading the Ramayana why doncha! You'll find a few similarities...such as Rama (the hero) being an incarnated God (the creator God by the way) sent to destroy a truly evil demon (who was invincible by any and everyone except a man). That doesn't sound like Jesus at all...nope, not one bit
