Quote# 30322

Your a stupid emo teenager. What do you know?

Abortion is the modern holocaust, anyone with a heart and a brain would want to ban it. Even Jane Roe is pro-life now. Hell, even Bernard Bathanson, founder of NARAL and former abortion "doctor", is pro-life.

80% of the country opposes homos marrying, to force society to accept that is true tyranny.

Brownback doesn't want to replace evolution with creation. Way to assume you douchebag.

School prayer was allowed in the time of the founding fathers. Just because a few atheists and secular Jews don't like it doesn't mean we shouldn't have it.

This country is a Christian majority. If you want left-wing atheism then move to the PRC. I sure wouldn't care if your kind left. And no I dont believe in creationism and all that nonsense, so don't cry "fundy" at me. I just have the common sense to see that all you damn 18 year old liberals are screwing up the entire world with your backwards idealism.

Tyranny of the majority

10/22/2007 9:19:09 PM

Rhys

Queue the "help, we're being oppressed" pie-chart.

Also, completely off topic, but I just have to say "I wish my lawn was emo, so it would cut itself".

The Jamo

Your a stupid emo teenager. What do you know?

While it's true that teenagers may not know as much as some older, wiser people, to dismiss their opinion on the basis of their age is a mating call of an idiot. What does being "emo" got to do with this is anyone's guess.

Abortion is the modern holocaust, anyone with a heart and a brain would want to ban it.

Project much? Anyone with a brain and heart would want women to make their own choice in regards to what happens with their bodies.

Even Jane Roe is pro-life now. Hell, even Bernard Bathanson, founder of NARAL and former abortion "doctor", is pro-life.

I don't know these people so I'll refrain from comment.

80% of the country opposes homos marrying, to force society to accept that is true tyranny.

No. The tyranny is to prohibit people from forming emotional unions based on love and mutual respect. Nobody is forcing you to commit to a homosexual marriage so shut the fuck up.

Brownback doesn't want to replace evolution with creation. Way to assume you douchebag.

Again, I know nothing about this.

School prayer was allowed in the time of the founding fathers. Just because a few atheists and secular Jews don't like it doesn't mean we shouldn't have it.

If you want to pray in school then that is your choice. The problem starts when the school as an institution forces students to pray even when they don't believe. Pray all you want, jackass. Just don't expect everyone else to bow down to that dipshit god of yours.

This country is a Christian majority. If you want left-wing atheism then move to the PRC.

Yeah, very nice. Would you like to also tell us how evil communists are and compare them with Nazis?

I sure wouldn't care if your kind left. And no I dont believe in creationism and all that nonsense, so don't cry "fundy" at me. I just have the common sense to see that all you damn 18 year old liberals are screwing up the entire world with your backwards idealism.

Again, 18-year-olds are the future of the world. If they choose not to believe in your ass-backwards god then all the better, I say. Being 18 has no bearing on the validity on your views. Only maturity plays a part in that and it seems that whatever age you are, the aforementioned maturity has not yet caught up. Good day to you.

1. Someone who does not support Sam Brownback is not 'emo'. He giving his views.

2. Who and who? I won't argue on these, I'll just leave it to the next guy who knows better.

3. Actually its between 50-60 percent. (Which is still a maority, sadly) Oh well, American always went against the global norm anyway.
http://www.angus-reid.com/polls/view/14474

4. Well, so far he's not been so clear on that. He does believe in creationism of a certain degree though.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2007/06/05/brownback-on-creationism/

5. Back then, schools were largely uncontrolled, so the large majority of schools in America were Christian. Naturally, only Christians attended, the rest attended their own schools. Have you considered that about 25-50% of the people in class don't believe in what you believe?

6. *waits for somebody to shout the name of a certain treaty*

If you want left-wing atheism

'Cause all liberals are atheists, and all atheists are liberals. Riiiight. *eyeroll*

Although, I have no problem with prayer in schools; so long as it's done quitely and the kids are allowed to pray to whichever diety they believe in.

10/22/2007 9:53:36 PM

Detrs

You don't have to accept it, just fucking deal with it.

And FYI no one actually wants people to get an abortion, us pro-choicers just now that making it illegal won't end it.

You dumbass.

"If you want left-wing atheism then move to the PRC."

What about all the right wing and libertarian atheists?

Someone needs their WAAAAAAmbulence

What about all the right wing and libertarian atheists?

They're just trying to infiltrate the Republican and Libertarian parties with their Evil Atheist Conspiracy(TM). Duh.

LadyBaird

If I remember correctly, Jane Roe isn't necessarily pro-life (could be wrong on this part), but she regrets the media circus and big up-in-arms-deal the Christian groups of this country has made out of the court decision.

(For those who don't know, Ms. Roe was the one involved in the Roe v. Wade case in the US that officially legalized abortion, I believe)

School prayer was allowed in the time of the founding fathers.

School prayer is still allowed. It's just that government employees can't lead it.

This country is a Christian majority.

So what? The whole purpose of the Bill of Rights is to define what the majority can't do, including making people follow the majority's religion.

10/22/2007 10:26:28 PM

Mister Spak

This country is a secular country. If you want a theocracy move to Saudi Arabia where you can do your god crap all you want.

10/22/2007 10:50:13 PM

Ansem the Wise

Comparing abortion to the Holocaust is epically offencive and insensitive.

10/22/2007 11:18:50 PM

Jane Roe (whose real name is Norma McCorvey, btw) claimed she was raped and wanted an abortion, she later retracted both. Who cares? The case was never about her in the first place, and it still isn't. She is quite welcome to decide not to have any, it's a right to choose, and that's what matters.
One of the COfounders of NARAL is now pro-choice, yes, but he's also Catholic. The bit of fundylore about it is that he changed his mind upon the invention of the ultrasound, realized they really were babies, and immediately converted to Xty and quit providing abortions.

As a not-much-older-than-18 liberal, I have to say, Theodosis, that bitchy old neocons like you have done a solid job of ruining our country all by yourselves. Maybe in your darkest hour you will realize this, and we'll still be around to save you. Hell, I already donate a hefty chunk to your retirement, because we all know you don't give a fuck if social security is still around when I retire. Or a democracy, for that matter. Just so long as teh gheys can't get married.

10/22/2007 11:28:03 PM

Sophie

An extra tidbit I heard about 'Jane Roe' (or apparently, Norma McCorvey); in the 80's or 90's, she suddenly became pro-life and became a'born-again' Christian. I think she was bapitsed in a Texas Baptist church. I'm not sure, though; anyone know if this is true?

Also, I would like to note that being a Christian (or sometimes even a Catholic for that matter) doesn't automatically mean one is completely anti-abortion. There's lots of pro-choice Christians, and even Catholics (including myself). And some Christian denoms even state they support abortion rights to a certain extent. (You could check The RCRC for details.)

Theodosis X come hither so I can lay five across your eyes. Just a quick question though, are you capable of actually saying anything without adding an insult at the end?

@ArmandT: Actually, he's not assering that the USA is a Christian nation, merely that it's "a Christian majority," which is true.

Of course, I think he's certainly trying to imply it...

He still believe China is lef wing? Then I rather be the teenager then the old fart still stuck in hes teen years world.

Abortion is the modern holocaust, anyone with a heart and a brain would want to ban it.

This is just as ridiculous, callous, and idiotic as animal rights people claiming that KFC is the modern day holocaust, however, even they are closer to reality than pro-life people are.

80% of the country opposes homos marrying, to force society to accept that is true tyranny.

80% of the country needs to understand that marriage between two people is not impeding on their rights.

10/23/2007 1:12:55 AM

In the time of the founding fathers, there were NO PUBLIC SCHOOLS. And concerning the Christian majority...........40% is a majority now?

10/23/2007 1:43:58 AM

Razark

"School prayer was allowed in the time of the founding fathers."

That's one of the dumbest arguments for it I've heard.

Slavery was allowed, too. Women voting wasn't. No one had electricity back then. The United States was a small fraction of the landmass it is now. The steam powered ship was years in the future.

Just because "it was done that way back then" doesn't mean it's the way it should be done now.

10/23/2007 1:44:49 AM

"I just have common sense to see that all you damn 18 years old liberals are screwing up the entire world with your backwards idealism".......whereas you, with your fundy idealism and atrocious spelling aren't. By the way, 18 years olds that you despise so much invented myths like the prayer in school or the Christian nation.

10/23/2007 1:52:36 AM

Doctor Whom

"80% of the country opposes homos marrying, to force society to accept that is true tyranny."

The majority wanted Al Gore as President. The majority's democratically elected representatives wanted New Jersey to have a gay-rights law enforceable against the Boy Scouts. But then, True Conservatives™ know when to argue that we need to defend democracy and when to say that America is a republic, not a democracy.

"If you want left-wing atheism then move to the PRC."

And if you want a right-wing theocracy, then move to Iran.
