Prevention vs Cure

The Bible favors prevention versus cure. The Republican party favors prevention and the democratic party favors cure. Abortion is a cure to the problem of sexual immorality. Funding for AIDS is the cure for the sin of homosexuality. Welfare is the cure for the sin of pornography that lead to the illegitimate children that leads to the need for welfare.

Republicans and Christians want to prevent people from getting to where they need abortion, AIDS cures and welfare. Abortion, AIDS and welfare are very painful to the people involved.

"The Democratic party favors prevention and the republican party favors cure.

Democrats favor programs that advocate the usage of condoms as a means of birth control and for containing STDs. They want to establish universal health care to prevent people dying because they can't afford sufficient health care. They concentrate on diplomacy to prevent unnecessary wars. They support equal rights movements to prevent bigotry against homosexuals and other minorities.

Republicans want to cure society by expelling illegal immigrants and killing prisoners. They want to cure foreign countries by waging war on them, toppling their governments. They want to cure AIDS with prayers and cure underage girls from getting unwanted babies by preaching the gospel to them."

"Because, First Mate, prevention is better than cure. What's the point of keeping all these lifeboats around when the extra weight is just making us more likely to sink?"

"But what happens to the passengers if we start to sink anyway?"

"Well then we... er, I mean... Look, there's no need to worry about that, dear boy! These measures are sure to make sinking an incredibly remote possibility."

"Good man. Now go down to the supply room and bring all the life belts and distress flares up too. It'll be plain sailing once we're got rid of all that extra weight."
