I'm just saying christians seem to always be the ones to show "tolerance" -- why can't the worldlings be expected to do the same. If we express that we are offended by certain things (whatever, not necessarily immodest women), shouldn't we expect the same courtesy they expect of us?

You only show "tolerance" because if you follow your judeo-christian "laws," our civilized secular society would put you in the slammer for assault, assault and battery, murder, attempted murder, rioting, hate crimes, rape, statutory rape, child abuse, terrorism, genocide, and a host of other crimes against humanity.
No one cares if you are offended in the face of more pressing matters such as human rights and dignity.
Your idea of tolerance for non-fundies to stand and watch as certain subgroups are being given hell by you.
Our idea of tolerance is that we do anything we want as long as it doesn't offend or harm people.

You know, I might actually go to Costco and get myself some irony meters in bulk. I think there are about 20 per giant-box-that-you-can't-carry-yourself.
If we express that we are offended by certain things ... shouldn't we expect the same courtesy they expect of us?
No, you should expect the same courtesy you actually give.
Telling everyone that doesn't belong to your death cult that they're going to burn in hell, and you're going to get front row seats to watch, IS NOT TOLERANCE!!
And really - worldlings?? WTF?
Christians have been tolerated for a long time...it's why criticisms of it haven't been arising except for sporadically since the age of Enlightenment. As for the Christian tradition of tolerance, one need only look as far back as the Civil Rights era in our own country to realize that that is a crock (and I direct your attention there because you would blatantly deny that the rampant homophobia of today is actually a problem!).
So, yes, you should expect the same courtesy that you show to everyone else...little to none.
Aw, fuck! That was my last irony meter (commercial strength too). The day I meet a tolerant fundamentalist is...wait, what am I saying, that'll never happen.
If the point is that people shouldn't go out of their way to offend you, coming up with some sort of epithet for most of the population is not the way to do it.
Why can't all you damn oxygenheads, waterjunkies, foodeaters, and mouthtalkers get that through your thick skulls?

yep, you guys are just FILLED with the love of Jesus
hows it going picketing the funerals of all those dead soldiers? you know, the ones your gods supposedly killed, because we support 'the fags'?
you always say shit like "we arent like them!" and "those arent christians!" but you believe exactly what they believe. you think all homosexuals are an abomination, and that they will all burn in hell, and that whoever endorses their lifestyle will also go to hell.
and if you DONT think that, then that book you have so much fun throwing in my face says YOU will go to hell. just something to think about, next time you are bullshitting about 'christian love' and 'tolerance'
Coming to my front door, uninvited, to tell me that I'm going to hell if I don't switch my beliefs over to match yours is disrespectful of me and my belief system. Refusing to take "no" for an answer and getting off my porch is disrespectful of my feelings and my property rights. Telling my Jewish (now deceased) husband or my Hindu (current) husband that they are going to hell for their beliefs is disrespectful of their religious freedom rights. And ALL of these acts are intolerant.
And yet, I believe I am safe in guaranteeing that no Hindu, Jew, or atheist ever threatened you with eternal damnation for refusing to change your belief system, let alone come uninvited to your front door to do it, am I right?
Seems to me that you have received a great deal more courtesy than you and your ilk extend to others.
What they think they are tolerating is stuff they object to but have NO control over. That's not toleration. The individual rights enacted by goverments is NOT there with the blessings or agreement of certain religions.
Especially these Rapurite Asshats
You crack my shit up. I cannot even catch my breath...I've gotten no further than your first sentence and I am unable to focus to read the rest.
Thank you for the laugh. I really needed a good one today.

Uhmmm...jumping up on the table, pointing at the nearest thing that doesn't fit your world view, screeching "DEMON! EVIL! SATAN! THE END IS NEAR!" is not tolerance. Not even close.
If we express that we are offended by certain things...
Most things.
...shouldn't we expect the same courtesy they expect of us?
Okay, here's the deal. You wanna pass judgments on us "worldlings?" Expect them in return. You. Can. Not. Have. It. Both. Ways. Deal.
Yeah... 'Tolerance' doesn't just mean that you allow them to live, you actually have to allow them to be themselves, free from prejudice or harassment.
It's great that you've stopped killing the people you don't like, but you're still a LONG way from tolerance.
Puh-leeze! The word for us is "Earthlings," not "worldlings."
I don't know what the comparable term is for fundies because I haven't figured out what planet you're from.
"Love your neighbor like yourself." No, it wasn't some godless, Christian-hating, liberal, communist Nazi who said that. It was Jesus. So shut up with your persecution complex, hypocrite.

Actually, that's false. The problem with so many Christians is that they're misnamed: Paulines would be a better description, for they follow not the Gospel of Christ, but the lunacy of St. Paul.
The fact that most Christian sects enthusiasticly rub their hands together in glee that non-virgin bachelor/ettes, non-christians and homosexuals are going to hell, and make their lives miserable by telling them to 'repent' did not enter your equasion, I presume?
@#492555:
Actually, that's not. I've never heard such a splitting of hairs until now. Call whatever group by whatever name you want, I'll about guarantee no one else is that pendantic about it (though I can appreciate your point).
I don't believe in divine beings, and even the most genteel of teachings attributed to christ leave much to be desired morally and/or philosophically as presented in the New Testament. All this to say, I disagree with your disagreement.
If YOU are offended, that means that YOU must take steps to avoid certain things. Turn off the TV and stay away from civilization, if you must. But don't try to tell the rest of society that WE must change so we don't offend your delicate sensibilities. That simply isn't our problem.
I'm just saying christians seem to always be the ones to show "tolerance"
So it's opposite day in that guy's region of hell.
BTW, I thought it said "wordlings ".
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
