This is a common version of the Lord's Prayer and lawmakers decided Thursday that it belongs in South Carolina schools.
They passed a bill allowing the Lord's Prayer and the Ten Commandments, along with a host of other historical documents, to be displayed in State schools and public buildings.
Representative Greg Delleney supported the bill and said it is unfortunate to want to exclude God from the public.
"The strength of this nation was...founded on Christian principle," said Delleney, "when I was going to school coming up this wouldn't have even have been a question."
