Quote# 4284

[In reply to 'invention has nothing to do with science?']Not in the early stages. It is to simple at first. Science is to busy trying to figure out complicated things and they tend not to be good in dealing with the more basic and simple concepts.

Most of the simple things have already been discovered, so science tends towards complicated stuff.
Still, i'd like you to invent an MP3 player using only simple tools, methods and materials (so no using electronic circuitry).

See, the reason things are deemed simple is because they are very well understood. The reason science deals with the more complex is because that is the stuff we know less about.

except that you can't understand the complicated things without understanding the basics, that's why they are called the basics, because everything else builds upon them.

The fundie attitude to science:

Everything modern technology has given us that is useful and helpful is not science. The automobile, radio, tv, washing machines, plumbing and household tools are products of our God-given ingenuity (and all-American inventions, of course, no other country is so God-blessed, the rest of the world shits in rivers)

All biological or high physics work is bad and a plot of worldly foreigners.
