Quote# 54879

[This is a comment in response to: If Creationism is taught, then other faith-based origin stories should be taught as well. Would there be time left for serious learning?]

Comment 1: Evolution is faith-based teaching. There is no proof for it only very shaky evidence.

Definition of a cult:
1) As an unquestioning loyalty and blind allegiance to a mortal, belief or idea that has erected walls of protection around it from examination.

2) Believes unquestionably what is taught by "experts" while rejecting reality/self-evidence.

Comment 2: There is equal or surpassing scientific evidence for Creation.
Thousands of books with the wrong evidence are not as good as one that has the correct information. Hitler put a book out that was called "1000 Scientists prove that Einstein was Wrong."
*
No one has observed a change in species, only adaptation.
*
Ben Stein's excellent movie "Expelled" shows how anything against Evolution is silenced.

[WTF? How could a reasonable and intelligent person ever win an argument on the face of such rampant studity and delusion?]

Adaption is a type of... oh fuck it!

"Ben Stein's excellent movie "Expelled" shows how anything against Evolution is silenced."

The fact that you fell for this sloppy, half-assed propaganda shows what a deluded jackass you are. Enjoy being in the Creationist Cult...

Illuminatalie

What the hell is 'self-evidence'? The delusion that you're right and everyone else is wrong, because you're special?

12/26/2008 5:03:39 AM

Atheist Amy

Hitler put a book out that was called "1000 Scientists prove that Einstein was Wrong."

Hmmm... I smell an unwitting hypocrite.

You realize that Hitler believed in god, right?

Sounds like something you all would put out about scientific ideas that do not easily mesh with your version of the Babble. This is so similar to when absolute fundies talk about "evolutionists" and other non-fundamentalist Christians drinking the "kool aid". WTF? Wasn't it people with faith, religion and belief in some version of your god that drank the kool aid? Am I missing something?

The Outsider

Wow, your definition of cult sounds exactly like Christianity. Weird.

an unquestioning loyalty and blind allegiance to a mortal, belief or idea that has erected walls of protection around it from examination."

First of all, I'm not blindly loyal to evolution nor do I know anyone who is, if someone were to disprove it with real evidence (bible does not count) I would happily accept the new theory. Second, evolution is not protected from examination, idiots like you examine it every day.

"Believes unquestionably what is taught by 'experts' while rejecting reality/self-evidence."

That's a shiny mirror you have there.

"Hitler put a book out that was called '1000 Scientists prove that Einstein was Wrong.'"

I was going to ignore this chunk of text but this is just too funny.

"No one has observed a change in species, only adaptation."

Adaptation is change.

"Ben Stein's excellent movie 'Expelled' shows how anything against Evolution is silenced."

They're not silenced, they're just ignored because they make no sense.

No one has observed a change in species, only adaptation.

"No one has observed a forest fire, only trees converting themselves into carboniferous structures."

"No one has observed sexual intercourse, only genetic material spontaneously combining."

"No one has observed the sun appearing on the horizon, only a flood of light o'er the landscape."

Hey, Mr. Tallyman, tally me Ray Comfort's sexually ambiguous banana! <Daylight come and me want go home>

Anyone who uses Ben Stein as a learned resource....

12/26/2008 7:30:36 AM

Adaptation is the basis of..............right, evolution. By the way, do you realise that your arguments are baseless, since you have no idea of how evolution works?

Ben Stein's excellent movie "Expelled" shows how anything against Evolution is silenced.

I saw the movie, and it was excrement. I have never seen so many twisted to fit to scripture/bible in such a short amount of video in my life. Where he (and his fake fundie scientists) didn't flat out lie, he/they obfuscated until the cows came home. If that is your ideal of an intelligent man, I fear for your children, so don't breed.

As an unquestioning loyalty and blind allegiance to a mortal, belief or idea that has erected walls of protection around it from examination.

I notice that, as you have phrased it, your definition conveniently excludes gods as focal points for cults.

Ahh, good old Ben Stein; the half-wit former speechwriter for Nixon and Ford. What a credible source for knowledge. Next, you'll be telling us you voted twice for Bush!
