I was a scoutmaster and on council staff with the Boy Scouts of America for 11 years in NE Ohio. And can state that 100% of the child molestations and attempted molestations were in fact homosexual in nature.

What a shock that the BOY scouts had, in an environment that consisted of ONLY MEN and BOYS, 100% male on male molestation. However, that doesn't mean it was homosexual. Sexual preference in adults does not correlate when it comes to child molestation.

Um...considering that the overwhelming majority of child molestations (whether of boys or girls) are perpetrated by fixated or heterosexual men...

(Seriously -- in every statistical study, the number of molesters who were gay men or who were women of any sexual orientation was smaller than the margin of error. Child molestation is a straight-guy thing.)

Damn, it's about time someone pointed that out. Aside from just the general stupidity of this guy's statement, people seem to ignore the fact that pedophiles who prey on young males can also be attracted to mature women. We talked a lot about this in my abnormal psych class. How about for instance, married men who molest their children?
I don't know any specific stats but I'm willing to bet there's a significant amount of pedos who don't get off to children alone. For fuck's sake, pedophilia is not the same as homosexuality. But everyone here already knows that.

Holy Skewed results, Batman! And also, to restate the usual, most child molesters aren't hetero OR homosexual. They're fixated on children, and have no real adult sexuality to speak of. Many admit to targeting boys just because they're easier to access.
Yes, well, in an all male group like the boy scouts, any sexual assault would have been homosexual. This is called a statistical bias because your sample (the boy scouts) does not accurately reflect society as a whole.
Of course 100% of the molestations were homosexual "in nature". When you break it down to the simple fact - one male having sex with another male - it is homosexual "in nature", however due to the fact that it an adult molesting a minor, that just makes it pedophilia and that is completely different.
Other than that, why be in the Boy Scouts if you're not going to Scout for Boys?

Wow, that is weird. I mean, with all the girls in the Boy Scouts of America, and all the grown women troupe leaders sharing tents with the boys, you'd think there'd be more gender-offense parity.
You know what's even worst? That whole Catholic priest scandal thing. Did you know that 100% of the offenders were men? Oh noes, we gottsta do something!

- The Boy Scouts of America are open to any form of theism with sacred writings. I know that there are Jewish troops Muslim troops, Mormon troops and Ba'hai troops in addition to those dedicated to the more popular flavors of Christianity. Its one of those situations where Christian zealots tolerate "those other types" as long as they are working together against a common enemy. If there were no atheists, those same zealots would demand to know why a good, wholesome organization like BSA permits those heathen (fill in enemy of the month) to join,
