As a former evolutionist myself, now when I look at the evidence for and against various theories of origins the only logical explanation to the mental gymnastics most die hard evolutionists go through is pride. It's what kept the established state church believing in the idea that the heavenly bodies revolved around the earth as the unsaved scientists taught (despite what the Bible says) for centuries, and it's what kept them believing the earth was flat like the ungodly scientists of the day believed (despite what the Bible says).

I smell BULLSHIT!
A century from now, when schools, children and churches alike accept evolution as obvious fact, Kimberly's great-grandchildren will be saying with a straight face that "unsaved scientists believed humans and animals didn't evolve (despite what the Bible says)." They'll find in their ancient muddle enough vague verses to twist into "prophecies" of evolution, just as they justified and then denied racism, dictatorship and a host of other stupidities.
Galileo had a beard so he couldn't have been one of those shaved scientists. Aristotle and Eratosthenes, likely, followed the Greek pantheon - for their time and place, can be referred to as godly.
Thoroughly confused now.
Show one example prior to the 16th century of any theologian or religious writer of any denomination claiming the Bible said the earth goes around the sun or the earth is a sphere. Claims to the contrary are just modern revisionism.
Martin Luther: "[Heliocentrism] wishes to turn the whole of astronomy upside down. ... I believe the Holy Scriptures, for Joshua commanded the sun to stand still and not the earth."
John Calvin: "I have no doubt ... from the established alterations of days and nights, that the course and revolutions of the sun, moon, and stars, are regulated by the marvelous wisdom of God."
Wilhelmus a Brakel (Dutch Reformed): The truth is that God states in many places in His word that the sun is in motion, her circuit resulting in both day and night, and that the world remains both motionless and stationary. Nowhere does God speak to the contrary ...
I highly doubt you are a "former evolutionist." If, however, that is true, I can say with a great deal of confidence that you never understood evolution and still don't.
dude, seriously, you need to really take a history lesson or atleast read your goddamned bible, esspecially the lines "EARTH IS THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE" and "that whole tripe about christ seeing all the earth from a mountain"
Science my ass, dipshit, who do you think kept people from discovering this crap? That's right, you're fucking religion, because exploring this stuff was considered hearsay by the church, same as exploring the human body to figure out how 'god's awesome creation' worked
As a former evolutionist myself...
As a former CIA agent, I can tell that you are full of shit. And yes, my former is just as credible as yours is.

No, you stupid cunt. The Catholic Church promoted those ideas.
Learn your fucking history.
You know I never, ever start off a sentence by saying...
As a former fundie myself...
As a former racist myself...
As a former deranged raving lunatic myself...
Because aside from being total bullshit, it adds no credibility whatsoever in fact it subtracts down past no credibility and into the realm of negative credibility.
Anyway - point me in the direction of anyone who believes the process of evolution to be true who calls themselves a fucking "evolutionist."
If you are gonna talk through your arse and pretend to be someone you’re not at least do some research first so you don't look like such a tit!
A "former evolutionist" (@Cathasach, yes, it's a real word), would be someone who used to work in the field of evolutionary biology, but doesn't any longer for whatever reason.
So John Maynard Smith and Stephen J. Gould would be former evolutionists. Somehow I don't think Kimberly here is in such esteemed company.
(Aside: I've met both of them, and Dawkins too. Not that that's relevant, but I rarely get a chance to name drop.)
As a former evolutionist myself, now a full time liar, the Fundie historical rewrites are coming along fine. Lots of people now believe the Bible's more accurate and better than Science.
You can be a huge liar too! Just take all scientific accomplishment and say the Bible told us that and all the really stupid religious crap is science run amok.
It's fun and requires little intelligence, lucky for us!
Really !
And the crusades, and the inquisition were also sponsored by ungodly scientists, unlike what the Bible says (even if it can say nothing of such modern times), so they could try out formulas for making hot dogs out of other people. Word of god man !!!
"As a former evolutionist myself"
So you failed fifth grade biology?
Shit, bitch, you failed elementary reality.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
