Ohh, yes. *chuckles* Gotta love the original Grimm's fairy tales, which were written mostly to scare people shitless.
I can add to this, however, with another Asian film produced (well, the English-language version was) by Disney, Princess Mononoke.
For one thing, it actually isn't mean for very young children, what with all the heads and arms being shot off, and all the people and animals being blown up. It does have what the Conservatards would call "a strong occult content", in the form of various gods/spirits representing animals and other aspects of nature. It also has not just one, but two strong female leads who are each more than capable fighters. One (San) is a "feral child" raised by the nature spirits (in fact, her adoptive mother is a wolf goddess), while the other (Lady Eboshi) is a former brothel girl who bought the contracts of a bunch of other brothel girls, and with them founded Iron Town, where Eboshi leads, the other women do all the hard work, and it's the men who are reduced to being the de facto homemakers.
Oh, and as if all that weren't enough for Andy Schlafly and the other Conservatards to mentally choke on, there's no clear villain in the story, no "black and white" morality for kids to learn. Clearly, then, watching this movie is a one-way ticket to a life of amoral occultic mayhem (and, by extension, to Hell).
