"Who am I?"
"Where did I come from?"
"Why am I here?"
"Where do I go when I die?"
If you were to ask an evolutionist , the answers to these questions are obvious. When people teach these to students , and if these students believe it , many of them would obviously think of suicide , mass killings , become like Hitler , etc...

Amusingly, it's Christianity that teaches you that you must hate yourself and everything in this life in order to get into Heaven.
Also, "evolutionists" as a group of people DON'T have a unified set of answers to these. "Evolutionism" isn't a dogma. "Evolutionism" does not have scriptures. "Evolutionism" does not deal with the metaphysical.
I believe that "Mein Kampf" should be required reading in every high school, so that students will learn that Hitler was a devout Catholic who believed he was doing God's will by exterminating the Jews. He considered them to be the murderers of Christ and saw himself as a warrior of Jesus.
I also think students need to learn of the witch hunts and Inquisitions, as these were carried on for hundreds of years by Christians and resulted in untold misery for thousands. Oh, and let's not forget abortion clinic bombings and the murder of gays, the KKK burning crosses in people's yards, and Dubya Bush bombing the crap out of whatever country opposes him while proclaiming that God is on our side. So many atrocities committed by Christians in the name of their god, yet evolutionists are supposedly the bad guys!
Wow, that sounds encouraging. I guess you have had a change of mind then? Although I guess it is unlikely you will see this and answer, and that I will see it too.
But for now I shall hope your comment, RichardT, is a demonstration of the ability of people who have been misinformed to correct their information when it is shown to be in error.
Being knowledgeable about science does not mean that a person is ignorant of or antagonistic towards ethics. As for your questions:
"Who am I?" I am, primarily, the product of my genetics, my upbringing and my choices. The same as you are the product of yours.
"Where did I come from?" My parents had sex.
"Why am I here?" See the above and include, "Because I haven't died yet."
"Where do I go when I die?" I expect that my body will be buried somewhere in a dignified but inexpensive arrangement. Anything beyond that is pure speculative.
Well, yes, the answers are quite obvious:
"Who am I?" - A member of the species "homo sapiens".
"Where did I come from?" - From a sperm cell and an ovum cell.
"Why am I here?" - Because your father and mother combined their DNA.
"Where do I go when I die?" - Into eternal nothingness.
Can anybody find here any mention of suicide, mass killings, Hitler, etc...? I can't, regardless how hard I try.
1.) I am me. More than that, I'm still searching, but frankly, I'm the only one that can find that answer, not you, not God.
2.) Calgary. Or from the Gittens and Maynard bloodlines.
3.) Who cares? Why do we need some deep, profound purpose? We're here, that's what matters.
4.) Who knows? You claim certainty yourself, but even you don't know for a fact. All you have is rumor and hearsay.
a) I am me. I don't always understand myself, but I know who I fucking am.
b) A maternity hospital, nine months after mom and dad, well, you know.
c) From a philosphical viewpoint, I don't know and don't care. From a practical viewpoint, because mum and dad, well, you know.
d) Back to where I was before I was born. My remains will most likely go either into a hole in the ground or into a crematorium, but there are other possibilities. I won't be around to give a shit about any of them.
Oh, and what the fuck has Hitler got to do with anything?
" ... would obviously think of suicide , mass killings , become like Hitler , etc..."
WHAT? How on Earth is this "obvious"?
The only thing obvious to me is that you need to have a great big note saying "Warning: MORON!" stapled to your forehead.
Stupid Fundies ... (mutters horrible obscene threats under her breath, kicks chair, kicks cushion, attempts to kick coffee table and bruises her toes ... mutters even more dark threats ... )
who am I ? myname tag says Brendan DeBois
where did I come from ? most recently Home
why am I here ? Hoping for lunch
where do I go when I die ? nowhere dude, someone picks up the body and buries it. Cemetary is nice though .
even kids should realize they have obligations to the society they live in.
Strangely enough, if they think like that, they very seldom follow through with their thoughts, but go on to become educated and productive memebers of society.
Hitler was a Christian creationist, stupid.
I'm me.
I came from my mother and father.
I'm here because my mother and father wanted a child.
I, like all living things, will go back to earth when I die.
That was easy. Why would any of this make me think of suicide or murder?
I just read On the Origin of Species . Makes a lot of sense. You know that business with the finches and their beaks, makes me want to murder a bunch of people and kill myself in a bunker. Like my new hero, Hitler. Thank you Charles and Jesus.
I wonder if I can get any Zyklon B on eBay...
"Who am I?" I am an individual human being, the product of my society and upbringing.
"Where did I come from?" Ultimately, from the accumulation of countless minor genetic changes of billions of years.
"Why am I here?" To make my world a better place.
"Where do I go when I die?" 'I' won't go anywhere. Death is the end of 'I'. My legacy, however, will live on. ( see answer above )
The first question, if considered truly philosophically, has never been answered to mt satisfaction by any religion. There have been interesting thought experiments on the nature of the self by philosophers though. My answer: Me. Tautology ftw!
The second is unique in that it is the only one all "evolutionists" would largely agree on. Excepting religion entering into the matter, all reasonable people accept that we are the product of understood biological phemomena, most immediately, sexual reproduction which may or may not have been intended by our parents. My answer: That.
The third is also dealt with a little shakily by many religions, including Christianity. Even so, a personal answer is impossible to provide. My answer: To experience life. So do so, and try to make a positive change for your fellow humans while you're at it.
The final question is also unanswerable. And pointless; no matter the nature of the afterlife, all we can do is make the best of this life and show as much love as we can. Would you really do any different if there were no afterlife? Better make the most of this limited one then. Or if heaven was a guarantee for everyone? Let's all help each other make the wait bearable then. Or if hell is for everyone and god is malevolent? Better be damn sure and see everyone enjoys this life as much as possible then. See, you always arrive at the same conclusion. My answer: Nowhere.
So the premise here is wrong, and forgiving that, the conclusion (suicide/psychopathic behaviour) is a non sequitur. That "obviously" is a lie.

"Who am I?"
You are who you are. Enjoy your uniqueness. And remember: Today is the first day of the rest of your life .
"Where did I come from?"
Well, when a mummy loves a daddy very much...! [/'The Talk'] X3
"Why am I here?"
Well, everybody's gotta be somewhere! [/Spike Milligan] X3
"Where do I go when I die?"
You don't. You're born. You live. You die. Finito. Goodnight Vienna. GAME OVER. OR: 'Life's a bitch. And then you die .'
So what the fuck has Hitler got to do with anything? After all...:

...and 'Gott Mit Uns' translates as 'God With Us' for the hard of thinking like you, Dickie-boy. Destroyed argument, much?
I am not an athiest.
I do not believe that the hebrew scriptures are the infalible and absolute truth to be taken literaly.
The athiests i have known usualy have better ethics than most fulpndies i know. These people are most excelent to resonably good in their ways and have no fear of heavin.
You do not have to have a god belief to be good. Fundiesim often fills people with hate, meaness, arrogance and a warlike nature. Fundie based wars have resulted in the death of many millions of people
Inorder to believe that the hebrew. and christian scriptures requires such extreme mental gymnastics that the mind breaks and a cannot function correctly and becomes a black and white robotic absolutist processored machine that denies the value of intellect and if fed the proper slogans and phrases is easily manipulated and led. This gives great power to the elite. Oldest trick in the book.
I love the way athiests think and although i am not an athiest i frequent athiest website. The clarity of thoughi is like a cool crisp breese here in the muggy south
Call me an athiest sympather.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
