I stopped watching television years ago. When mainstream news started featuring whores with miniskirts showing everything, I realized that TV had been totally corrupted. You can't even watch the daily news anymore. Everything happening on the TV screen centers around the woman's vagina. That's what the reporter with a miniskirt all the way up her thighs says to any red-blooded man with a man's mind. No healthy man with a normal mind can sit watching a woman with her thighs exposed and not think sexually. Americans have adopted a dirty Playboy philosophy. It's wickedness and God hates it! It's all so sexually suggestive, promiscuous and perverted. Although we're all sinners, there are those who want to see perversion on television, and then there are those who don't. I don't. I want to have a clean mind. Clean living comes from clean thinking.

'Everything'? Strange. In all the time I've watched American Football - both the regular season NFL games & Superbowl - they've never shown the cheerleaders.

When Channel 4 showed Sumo in the mid-late 80s, 'tis a stranger thing that they never showed any women in the main focus: the Dohyo. Mainly because women are forbidden to even touch the ring where the Rikishi have their bouts.

I do that on a daily basis... it's called having a clean mind that doesn't automatically roll in the gutter when it sees a bit of skin.

I guess that's why women's wrestling - a la WWE - is popular in Japan. The 'Lovely Angels' Yuri & Kei in the Sci-Fi light novels/anime "The Dirty Pair" were actually based on a female tag team known as 'The Beauty Pair'.

Never mind 'chairs' used in WWE, Japanese wrestling can be far more savage, with even use of fluorescent tubes, barbed wire etc...! >_<

*chuckles and nods* Oh, I know very well about puroresu, including joshi puroresu, as women's wrestling is called there. I like it, not only because they're not afraid to get nice and bloody sometimes (including the women -- Megumi Kudo and my personal favorite joshi wrestler, Mayumi Ozaki come to mind), but because Japanese wrestling (men's and women's) treats the participants as athletes first, entertainers second (unlike the lukewarm crap served up here in the States by the McMahons where the reverse is true). I don't know whether this is still the case, but it wasn't uncommon, back in puroresu's heyday in the 1990s, for scripted wrestling matches and unscripted MMA matches to be held on the same card in Japan.

@Anon-e-Moose, The Rat Basilisk: Actually, it seems there's a fledgling women's sumo movement in Japan. (Although they obviously wear more than male rikishi do...)

Meanwhile, I noticed that bit about Stewart apparently claiming not to be a Christian. Thing is, going further down that page has him say that he's beholden to Jesus! And I'm not about to doubt that he at least thinks he's Christian, when he's parading around that dean's list award from Hyles-Anderson.

So, my suspicion is that Stewart's been engaging in plagiarism, swiping wholesale screeds that support his view of the world. Only in this case, he forgot to remove the original writer's disclaimer of NOT being a Christian.

EDIT: I think I might have found an original for that: http://www.cremationofcare.com/illu_sym_babel.htm. The only problem is that Stewart's site is marked May 2005, and the Cremation of Care page info lists its "last modified" as December 2005. Still, the lack of attribution to Stewart *or anyone else* (i.e. it's meant to be seen as done by a member of the site's main board) doesn't bode well for Stewart.

religious fundamentalists are the most sex-obsessed people I've ever seen. Even raging hedonists with a new bed partner almost every night don't fret and obsess over it this much. The thing is that they don't obsess about it in any kind of remotely positive way.

Instead, they're so obsessed with maintaining their own state of purity that they seek to prevent anyone else from enjoying themselves. It's somewhat akin to someone on a strict, self-imposed diet flying into a hysterical rage when he sees someone else enjoying a pizza or a rich, fattening dessert he knows he isn't supposed to have, and tries to force everyone around them to adhere to their own strict diet because they're so desperate to avoid any hint of temptation.

In addition, they seem to exhibit a childlike inability to comprehend that the people around them are different from them, or can know something different from what they themselves know--they can't seem to separate their own thought processes from those of other people, so they assume everyone else is exactly like them. They fetishize purity for its own sake, and suffering for its own sake, and to a degree that's positively psychotic. And they're absolutely incensed that someone else can be happier than they're willing to allow themselves to be.

The Wayback Machine provides proof to the contrary, no matter how much Davey-boy alters his original pages. They're cached in that web page archive (240 billion), and can never be changed, so that little matter with that TV station in the Philippines - least of all his covering up his 'Lying for Jebus - may be the least of his problems

My citing the example of when Channel 4 (in the UK) showed Sumo in the mid-late 1980s) was simply to annihilate Davey-boy's argument about his claim that 'Everything happening on the TV screen centers around the woman's vagina', when there's plenty of examples - including NFL games on TV - that proves you wrong, DJS.

I've seen women's Sumo - clips of such - and unless the Japan Sumo Association unclenched their 'tradition' & 'roots in Shinto rice harvest ceremonies' anus, then I see no reason why mixed Sumo shouldn't happen. After all, even the smallest rikishi can beat the heaviest, as former Yokozuna Chiyonofuji (a.k.a. 'The Wolf', now head of a Sumo heya or 'Stable' himself) demonstrated time & again against the hugest rikishi: even Hawaiian-Samoan Salevaa Atisanoe, a.k.a. 'The Dump Truck', using his speed, cunning & great strength (only his shoulder - due to a past dislocation - was his weakness).

...ah, I loved watching Channel 4's Sumo coverage , especially the Autumn 'Aki Basho'. (*Nostalgia bomb goes off in brain*) X3

@Anon-e-Moose: Actually, there's piece of evidence #2 for plagiarism: Cremation of Care's link list doesn't include Jesus-is-Saviour. If Stewart were writing for them, I'd expect him to make sure his own collection was accessible from there.

Thus, I really don't think he authored the first part of the page. He just swiped it, cut and pasted it into a new page, added the second part, and called it a day. With no one, least of all him, noticing that the original author's assurance of not being Christian had been left in.

Tch. Lazy of him. No matter how little he might think of Catholicism, I still doubt he'd appreciate being accused of Sloth.

Just like a car chase in an episode of "Road Wars" (with a Tango Victor Squad car following a criminal continually going through red lights, wrong way down one-way streets, wrong way round junctions etc), keep a-racking up those Sins, Davey-boy. 'Thou shalt not bear false witness'. 'Thou shalt not Steal'. Revelation 21:8: 'all liars'.

The way things are going - certainly for you - the 'Lake of Fire's gonna be the least of your problems, Davey-boy. Your precious 'God of Love's gonna have a very special Hell just for you. I agree. "In a vacuum", as it were, simply not watching stuff you don't like wouldn't be worthy of much commenting. In this case, though, it matters because of who's saying it. Other regulars here can recite Mr. Stewart's sordid past history better than I, but trust me when I say: he's earned every bit of scorn and ridicule he gets.
