Stalin murdered millions to create a godless Soviet Union, Mao murdered millions in communist China, in the name of atheism. If the athiests believe God is just a myth, why do they expend so energy trying to eliminate Him from society. I believe Santa and the Easter Bunny are myths, but I don't demand removal of all references to them. It seems to me you are not just athiests, you are anti-theists. There is a difference.

There is a difference between an atheist and an anti-theist. The more you theocrats push, the more I become an anti-theist. Back off and you can have your comfortable myth and not hear a peep from me, but if you start to dictate what I can and cant do or think, then I will bite back.

One reason fundies use Mao and Stalin as examples is because both leaders did persecute churches and church members, and did kill or exile plenty of clergy. However, what they simply fail to grasp is that this was done to secure power, not to try to drive God out of a nation. Stalin couldn't have cared less about whether people believed in a magical sky fairy or not - the real threat was the church itself, as an organized body that stood (in his mind) as a potential enemy that would oppose his rule. And it's quite possible that the church might have done so, but Stalin effectively cut their power out from under them.
Hitler did pretty much the same thing, the main difference being that he sought allies within the church and used religion to justify his massacre of Jews in Germany, and destroyed or exiled any church or clergy that didn't buy into his program.
BTW - both Hitler and Stalin had moustaches. In your world, all people with moustaches are complicit in terrible acts against humanity. What is worse; Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Genghis Kahn and Mussolini all had black hair! Oh no! Never trust someone with black hair!
Also, atheist don't (usually) try to eradicate god from all of society, just from the laws everyone (including non-believers) has to follow. As an atheist, I see no reason why I should follow the teachings of your bible/quran/torah/<insert moldy old book> any more than I expect you to renounce your faith. All we ask is that you keep your beliefs to yourself and your fellow-believers.

And while atheists have killed, nobody has ever killed in the name of atheism. Stalin killed because he was a paranoid tyrant. Mao Tse Tung killed because he was corrupt with power. And for every atheist who allegedly murdered because they were atheists, there are millions who didn't. By comparison, let's look at all the theists throughout history who DEFINITELY killed because of their religions. Torquemada, Bloody Mary, Osama Bin Laden, the list goes on.
