Heeeck! One could do the same with Christianity. When you think about it; Christianity comes off as a hybrid of Dharmic, Zoroastrianism & Hebrew faiths. Latter stuff comes from Pagan and Mystery Religions. Christianity can be a kind of Proto-Baha'i.
DHARMIC: Jesus is a bit of a yogic figure. He's a God-Avatar yet a full-man. He's akin to a Mid-Eastern Krishna. The Christ aspect of Godhead is akin to Vishnu. There may be a bit of Siddhartha Gautama in there as well.
ZOROASTRIAN: The whole God/HaShem is the Good Guy and Satan/HaSatan's the Bad Guy thing. Originally; Satan was a sorta-good guy who worked for God and was in charge of testing people. Christianity, however, made HaSatan into the "Angra Manyu" to HaShem's "Ahurda Mazda".
JUDAISM: Christianity is a reboot of Judaism. Jesus is the New Abraham/Moses/Joseph (the coat guy). John The Baptist is the New Elijah & Elisha. The 12 Apostles are the New 12 Hebrew Patriarchs & Tribes. The Decalogue has been streamlined into Two Commandments: Love Deity and Love Everyone. This new Judaism is a lot more peaceful and Liberal and even Gentiles can join.
** One can also modify this: Easter is the New Passover. Christmas is the New Hanukkah.
LATER PAGAN STUFF: The various holidays, feast days, etc. are based on Pagan festivals. Jesus is the Sol Invictus. Easter is Ostara. Christmas is Yule. etc.

That said; I'm just going to bee a generic NeoPagan Middle-Path Witch. I respect Christian stuff but in the long run....I prefer freedom, fluidity and shades of Grey. There's Good & Evil but BOTH can be Light & Dark.
