Food stamps are used by the Democrats to buy votes. An extra $350 a month from the government allows you to lease a BMW. I’m sure there is an economic term for it, but the government is replacing $350 that you would have spent for food.

This guy's obviously never had to collect food stamps. They don't replace money you already had, it fills in the gap when you don't make enough to put food in the house yourself. By the time you can afford to lease a BMW, you aren't getting food stamps anymore.
Oh. and if you do see someone driving a BMW and using food stamps, they likely lost a good paying job and now can't make ends meet. Misfortune can happen to anyone, asshole. Including yourself.
Right-whiners are fools and the followers of fools. I wonder if he's even aware that a great many recipients of SNAP are military families and the families of disabled vets. I wonder if he knows that the overwhelming majority of SNAP recipients are working their asses off at low paying jobs. I wonder if he has any idea how many recipients of SNAP are retirees who lost any accrued assets paying medical bills. I wonder if he knows that SNAP benefits are immediately injected into the economy. I wonder...
Nope. He doesn't know these things and wouldn't care if he did. He's been programmed by FAUX"News" and AM radio hatriots to believe that there's a vast number of people who game the system because they are lazy.
Every President since LBJ, Republican or Democrat, has supported SNAP. So does that mean that Nixon, Ford, Reagan and two Bushs were buying African American votes? Very hard to believe (AKA big effing lie).
So exactly how destitute should a person be before they're given any help? I mean, are they allowed to have a place to live, ways to store food (refrigerator) and cook it (microwave oven/stove), communicate (cell phone/landline phone/cheap laptop), and get around (car)? Or do they have to lose literally everything before you'll grudgingly consent to throwing a little food-money their way? Do they have to be sleeping in an alleyway in a refrigerator carton, fighting off swarms of rats and slowly starving to death before they can get any kind of aid?
Last I checked SNAP only allowed one to spend money on eligible food. You're not even a allowed to buy prepared food at a deli inside a supermarket.
Those $350 a month would really help a family make ends meet. Hell I was on SNAP for a while with my family because we were in poverty. We could barely afford the food we were eating. That extra bit of money allowed us to get back on our feet. But we left as soon as we could, we needed help, not a handout.
As extra information, I have never voted Democrat. I am a Socialist through and through, I usually cast an invalid vote on elections.
no, food stamps are welfare for big agra, who own the democrats and republicans. to get votes, politicians only need to move some air around, and if that moving air confirms the people's prejudices and makes the people feel good about themselves, or safe, or whatever, then the people will vote for them.
And how does this work, precisely? Do recipients get a little note, telling them to vote democrat? Or are there posters with the President's face, and the caption, "Remember who got you the food?" Secret handshakes? Wink and a nod? Maybe the food stamps themselves have a picture of FDR and the promise "Keep us in, we'll keep it coming."
