Have you ever truly taken note to where these natural catastrophes take place? When is the last time you heard of an earthquake or hurricane in Rome or Jerusalem? God chooses to be fair in ways that we can't even begin to understand. I have met people who left areas after natural catastrophes who are better off for having left. All we can ever really say is that He works in mysterious ways.

Hmmm, people being better off for leaving an area where natural disasters are common and moving to an area where they are not. Well, damn, imagine that. I don't know how anyone could have ever thought of that without Gawd and his mysterious ways.

Riiiight. Fascinating 'theory' you've got going there. Did you think of it yourself, or did the blue pixie behind the curtain tell you? (Whatever you do, don't listen to the red one, she's a liar on Tuesdays)

They don't get a lot of hurricanes in mainland China or in Stalingrad, either -- or, for that matter, in the United Arab Emirates!

I often wonder what it would be like to travel back in time to talk to people from the 12th or 4th century, and learn how they view the world around them.

Counterpoint: The Roman Empire didn't fall until after it adopted christianity.

Yeh. McCartheyism was clearly nothing more than sibling rivalry and a two pronged attack, firstly sucking up to the authority figure and secondly discrediting the competition.

                Rome? Nov 23, 1980
Jerusalem? Feb 11, 2004
Your point?

Have you ever truly taken note to where these natural catastrophes take place?
Like the bible belt as one of the areas in the world which suffers most from tornadoes and hurricanes?
Or Stockholm (capital of Sweden, which is both among the most gay-friendly and areligious countries in the world), which is among the most safest cities in the world regarding natural disasters? The same for Berlin, Germany, which has so many irreligious people that it is now called "the atheist capital of the world"?
Perhaps LOCATION is crucial whether a city or area is haunted with natural disasters?

You know, one would think earthquakes have something to do with living near fault-lines, tornadoes, living in the usual tornado country, floods near coasts and rivers... nothing mysterious about it. What's really mysterious though, is how a loving god idly stands by while these things happen. Or more pointedly, why the world was "designed" to have these things happen in the first place. Oopsie, was that a logic bomb?

Bible Belt, USA: Tornado Alley. Floods.
UK. Holland. Homosexuality legal; Gay marriage legal. Abortions legal (PROTIP: Holland has the lowest teenage pregnancy rates on the planet): Virtually no natural disasters.
Either your God is (check one):
[ ] A fucking awful shot, re. his 'wrath'.
[ ] He favours upposedly 'sinful' countries.
[ ] He doesn't exist, and shit happens anyway.
Choose wisely. Either way, you and your 'beliefs' are fucked, wanderphilos.

Maybe you need to read a bit about this religion called, Christianity in which the main premise is that Christ died for your sins, which means he ceased to punish the world in OT ways.
For fuck's sake, do you knuckle-dragging clown shoes even read your own fucking trash?
