All I'm saying is that the fetus is more important than the woman who has an abortion . The government should pass laws to protect the fetus (and yes, I do believe that banning abortions reduces abortion rates), not to protect women who are trying to harm the fetus.

Not from a legal standpoint, Jack. Not even close.

Abortion rates are at an all time low in the midst of legal abortion. You fail.
"the fetus is more important than the woman who has an abortion"
But once the fetus has been born and become a baby, you declare "Mission accomplished!" and go look for a new fetus to gush over, don't you!
True fetus fetishism.
A woman who has an ectopic pregnancy could die from internal bleeding, you know. Also, an ectopic pregnancy will never result in a live birth, due to implanting outside the uterus.
So a woman who suffers one should just be allowed to die rather than abort the fetus that would never have lived anyway?
Asshole.
There you have it ladies and gentlemen, fetuses are more important than living breathing women..
At least he's honest about not giving a dman about women.....
++"All I'm saying is that the fetus is more important than the woman who has an abortion."
The fetus in not thinking being. It is no more a distinct, sentient human being than my toenail clippings. Furthermore, the woman can produce more within a year. It'll be roughly 12-15 years before that fetus can produce its first (assuming it's not sterile) and another 5~ years before it can do so safely if it's female. So not only is your personal opinion irrelevant but, what's more, the actual biology (as opposed to your thoroughly flawed "understanding" of the subject) is stacked completely against you, to boot.
So a full grown living breathing, sentient, sapient human being is less important than some specks of cells.
Boy! I'll bet you're a real hit with the ladies....NOT!
Why don't you just change your username to "Forever Alone"?
Actually abortion rates are lowest in states that have the most lenient abortion laws. Coincidentally these states also eschew "abstinence only sex education" for real sex education.
Guess what the contributing factor there is. I'll give you a hint, when teenagers know what they're getting into because of sex education, they're more likely to either not have sex or use contraception. Lower teen pregnancy rates (not to mention the much lower rape rates) means less women seek abortions.
If you really wanted abortion to go away, you'd start teaching young teens how to use a condom, teach consent instead of purity, and openly allowing abortions to be a thing.
@Doubting Thomas: exactly.
Remember, the wealthy and powerful in decades past when abortions weren't legal in this country were always able to do what needed to be done. Their daughter would simply take a trip abroad for a few weeks or months, and come back a little thinner, and no one would ever bring it up again.
The poor, or those without the means, would do what they've always done--they'd find a doctor willing to do the procedure on the sly if they could. Or, they'd find their nearest back-alley abortionist and take their chances.
In either case, the legality was completely irrelevant.
Hold on a minute there, Sam. There's just over a 50% chance that the fetus would turn out to be a girl, which would grow up to be a worthless woman. You'd probably better come up with a plan to determine the sex of fetuses before you get all crazy about pressing charges against women seeking abortions. You wouldn't want to throw away good taxpayer money protecting unimportant future females.
Confused?
