[Emphases and typos are Linda's.]
Every choice has an attached consequence. CHOICE => CONSEQUENCE
The choice of sexual intercourse carries an attached consequence of a high probability of a baby. SEX => BABY
The trend for many Americans is to enjoy the “pleasure” of their choices: robbery, murder, laziness, sex,— and do away with the consequences. As Americans, we must stop facilitating this trend by holding ourselves and others accountable for individual choices.
choose accountability. choose life.

Wecome to a nation that puts life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
America: Love it, or whine about it on the Internet.
While I agree that we should be accountable for our own actions, and that actions and choices have consequences, the idea here is that specifically christians should be accountable not only of themselves, but for everyone else as well, believers or not. Which really invalidates her first claim. Now, how this applies to the pro-life movement, I don't know.

Equating murder with sex? As a pleasurable pastime? WTF?

Gay sex ftw! Oh, that isn't what you meant?
you're completely right, we must teach people to be responsible for their actions and use condoms to protect themselves and their partners from unwanted pregnancies and diseases.
oh.
that's not what you meant, is it. what you really meant was "we must tell others how to behave, and if they disagree we should stone them, and it would be all their own fault"
my bad.

Ever heard of the birth control pill? It's only been around for 45 years ...
BTW, a baby isn't a "consequence" or a punishment for "sin" - it's a human being ... something you religious nuts don't seem to appreciate.

so even when you can have no consequences like birth control, it's still wrong?
Actually, recent studies have shown that birth control pills can lead to early menopause and other undesirable consequences. Things happen when you mess with hormones in unnatural ways - or for that matter, any part of the body. And operations like tubal litigation and vasectomies carry various risks (even a quite minute risk of mortality).
But that's not to take Linda's side on the matter. Honestly, how many people, Americans or otherwise, consider murder as a pleasurable activity? :X I can't imagine they're so much more common than so many fundamentalists thinks 'True Christians' are.
Having an abortion if you're not ready for a child IS to take responsibility for your action.
And what the fuck is up with this whole "if you do something stupid, you have to bear the consequences with no alleviation" bullshit? So if I smoke and get lung cancer, I should not be allowed surgery because if I do, I'm "not taking responsibility for my actions"?
Idiot
...by holding ourselves and others accountable for individual choices.
Sure, leave them their choice and we'll hold them to it.

What about rape victims? What about etopic pregnancies?

You forgot religion.
CHOICE => CONSEQUENCE
So is it "eat chicken-fried steak; therefore, you can't take Zocor"? or is it "eat chicken-fried steak, take Zocor, have a heart attack anyway; therefore, you can't have angioplasty"? or is it "eat chicken-fried steak, take Zocor, have a heart attack anyway, have angioplasty; therefore you can't change your diet and go to cardiac rehab"? At what point does your right to mitigate the consequences end?

You forgot arrogant stupidity, hypocrisy, fraud....
Sometimes people don't get a choice. What about a woman who is raped? Or do you belive that it is a victims fault?
Or what about a situation where both mother and child could die no matter what is done, but the mother might survie if the pregnacy is terminated?
But that would not matter, right? Because the rights of women do not matter at all...
Primative ape...
Who the fuck doesn't enjoy the pleasure of sex?
I've never been done with sex and said to myself "Jesus, I feel worse than before! I sure wish I hadn't done that!"
The only person I am accountable to is myself. Not you. Not your "god". Get your nose out of other people's business. GET A FUCKING LIFE.
Robbery and murder *have* legal consequences -- it's called PMITA prison. Sex between consenting adults IS NOT A CRIME.
I reiterate: GET A FUCKING LIFE.
Been having sex for 25 years now, still no baby.
So Sex != Baby
I am accountable for my individual choices, that's why I chose birth control.
Grammatical errors & misplaced emphasis =/= fundie. There's actually a point to this, and it is one of the more rational pro-life arguments out there. Sure, it's a bit (a lot) over the top in comaprisons, and I don't agree with its point, but other than that...on reflection my "1" rating should have been a "2" or "3" - the comparisons are very dodgy. But no "5" material here, folks.
There's nothing more pleasurable than reveling in your own self-righteous superiority. It allows you to attain the comfort of your own computer chair and to hold-forth, in all seriousness, on subjects with which you, in all likelyhood, have very little knowledge.
How many fatuous cretins do you know of, that under such circumstances, will pontificate most confidently and link sex in with murder and robbery as a kind of everyday common occurrence.
Only the mentally sad and lazy.
Sex, intercourse, no contraception, no abortion= high % of baby occurence
sex, no intercourse, no contraception, no abortion= no baby
sex, intercourse, contraception, no abortion= high % of no baby
sex, intercourse, no contraception, abortion= 100% no baby
not so simple, is it?
I've never understood the mentality that contraception and abortion are a way of getting out of "responsibility". They ARE a way of TAKING responsibility. Any idiot with functioning genitals can breed indiscriminately. Controlling your fertility instead of breeding like sewer rats is the hallmark of an adult.
Also... how much are y'all willing to bet that Linda doesn't practice what she preaches? By her logic, the only time she should get a break from pregnancy is during childbirth.
Remember, ladies, it's not your place to decide whether you can adequately rear that child, be it financially or physically. It's not your place to decide whether a genetic disorder will compromise said child's quality of life, to the point of, in many cases, flat out misery. It's not your choice to abort the embryo even if your own life is at risk. You made your choice when you had sex, and as such, you have that baby, because how can a mere woman actually be able to make a choice for herself about her wellbeing, and the quality of life the child she would be bringing into this were.
These people make me sick... -_-
That's why we should always use condoms... no, you want to ban that too. Well, maybe if kids were better educated... no, you're against that too. I guess there's really no pleasing you.
Two things wrong with this, right off the bat:
1. Rape
2. So, you'd like us to stop treating STD victims then, too?
Granted, I think the whole issues of abortion is a bit more controversial than that, and, while I am myself pro-choice, I can understand the sentiments and concerns of many pro-lifers, but to say that abortion should not be allowed because you want to punish women for having sex? That's not a legitimate moral concern; that's misogyny.
Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television. Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that?
(With thanks to Irvine Welsh)
And if the person is sterile, loses the baby or just has sex in the wrong moment, are those consequences as well?. Or put it in a more light way, should we stop healing people because of the "consequences"?
I was a "punishment baby". My mother told me constantly how much she suffered from my existence, but the only one who ever actually suffered was me. That's okay for you, Linda, because it's not you, so who cares how much abuse those "punishment babies" take? (And it's quite a lot.)
Die in a fucking fire, you sanctimonious bitch. It's the fault of people like you that my childhood was hell.
So which is it? Is a baby a "child of god" (a prize) or a "consequence" (a punishment)?
Fundies cannot agree on that point, so let's assume it's a choice. instead. And it usually takes another fifteen or twenty years before you know if your kids fall into the "asset" or the "debit" column anyway...
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
