I do know how difficult it obviously is for MrSugar to understand the secular world, humanity and law. However, it behooves him to try and get to grips with it soon or he is going to end up in jail playing doctors and nurses. That is, male doctors and male nurses. Subconsciously, maybe that's what he really wants? Sex with no possibility of an abortion.
Of course, in fundie world, the only conceivable function for a woman is to be the *willing, eager* recipient of her man's sperm, bear his children, and train them to be mindless soldiers/whores for Christ in their turn.
Anything that detracts from this mission (education, job, actually taking part in church) is extraneous, therefore sinful, and banned.
Whatever happened to loving and forgiving and whatnot? Or alternately, whatever happened to what your pal Jesus taught? Didn't he have something to say about the laws of the Old Testament?

I don't think you've thought this entirely through. A great philosophical mind you're not.
Here, let me get you started. Suppose a woman has just had an abortion. Suppose also that it's perfectly allowed to follow such Biblical proclamations. You've decided to take it upon yourself to shoot both her and the doctor. Now you have "sheddeth man's blood" and are also to be, presumably, shot for it. Unfortunately, the person who shoots you will suffer the same fate, as will the one who shoots him and so on.
See the problem?

Strange how the more religious Americans, the more they embrace the death penalty. Whereas, those of us who live in less religious places value human life and would abhor the state taking life in our names. Yes, and that verse occurs just after one that says that God will hold a man accountable for the blood he spills, and just down from where he says that we must not eat meat with the blood still in it. Do you only eat kosher, MrSugar? Didn't think so.
