In fact, and much as I hate to say this, I do not believe the Right should choose a female candidate for 2012. Only Conservatives love strong women, the left are far too sexist to forgive any woman who dares to step beyond the limited roles (Victim, Liberal or man hating feminist) which Political Correctness permits them to play and they will hunt down and destroy any woman who tries to or who stands in the way a preferred ethnic minority candidate.

Somtimes, I wish these folks, especially the women, could experinces what the 1950's were ACCTUALLY LIKE.
Might put a new perspective on the "Man-hateing Feminist".
Yes, the left oppress women so much, like by giving them the opportunity to pursue careers if they wish and not be limited to options of Secretary, Waitress or the likes, or telling them that they shouldn't be forced to carry a child to term if they do not feel they can care for it, or if it will endanger their health, or telling women that their implicit duty isn't just to be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen, and that any dissent (read: any time her views don't align with that of her man's) should not be met with her being smacked around.
Yes, liberals are SO anti-woman.
Wait, what? How much money does Sarah spend on mirror polish? She may be a "strong woman", but she knows nothing about anything. Most women in American politics are liberal Democrats; people like Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell are the exceptions.
Both Sarahs (Palin and the Maid of Albion) are a disgrace to people named Sarah. My cousin is ashamed...
If I hadn't been sitting in the office, I would have laughed out loud at that one.
Isn't it the Conservatives who want the women to stay in the kitchen and have babies? Who want to follow the Bible saying women should not rule over men?
Does little Sahrah know what the word Conservative means?
Most feminists don't hate men. Many feminists ARE men.
Women ARE a minority, at least in politics. Not an ethnic one, sure, but still...
What strong woman calls herself Maid of Albion? It sounds ULTRA-conservative, or rather reactionary; something from the medieval times.
No, if they know what they're doing, the Republicans won't nominate Sarah Palin. It's not that the left hates women in positions of power, they hate stupid women in positions of power.
Well, Sarah's right - the left probably isn't going to vote for a woman who isn't a liberal; but they're not going to vote for a man who isn't a liberal, either.
Only Conservatives love strong women
Yeah, they need a strong woman to scrub the floor, do the laundry and deliver beer to their husbands while dealing with a new baby every year.
"Only Conservatives love strong women, the left are far too sexist to forgive any woman who dares to step beyond the limited roles"
Would those roles be brood mare, meal cooker and beer can delivery?
Things Conservatives Believe:
Women are inferior to men, and should be barefoot, pregnant, in the kitchen, and quiet; unless they're really hot and run for political office as Republicans.
Yes, the Democratic Party's shellacking of Hillary Clinton proves your claim the left are far too sexist to elect a woman.
--------------- Obama --------- Clinton
States carried- 29+DC+GU+DA+VI 21+PR+AS
Popular vote--- 17,869,542---- 18,046,007
Percentage----- 47.4% --------- 47.9%
Appointing someone Secretary of State is the most common way to hunt down and destroy an opponent.
Sarah, honey, you're a mere woman, and I'm a man. If you're going to be consistently conservative, quit your yapping and fetch me a beer.
What's that? You won't? Then you're a politically correct, man-hating, feminist, liberal victim.
Just because I think the women conservatives put up as politicians are completely batshit crazy doesn't mean that I'm sexist. It means your that Palin, Bachman, O'Donnel, Whitman, Angle, et al. are, in my opinion, crazy and deserving of sedation, therapy, straight jackets, and a rubber room.
"left are far too sexist to forgive any woman who dares to step beyond the limited roles.. Liberal..."
So you're blaming the liberal* party of this country for wanting a female candidate to be liberal? That's ... not really sexism.
Let me guess: you're just butthurt that Sarah Palin didn't get elected VP, aren't you? Here's a tip: it had less to do with "Political Correctness" and more to do with the fact that during the election she didn't actually know what the VP's job was ! (among other things)
Also, forgive me if I decline to take advice about political correctness from someone who thinks interracial marriage is a liberal plot.

* Yes, I know that the Democratic party of the US isn't really liberal compared to the rest of the world, but it's all we've got right now...
All right. I'll bite. Would Palin or O'Donnell have gotten anywhere as far as they have within the conservative movement if they weren't good-looking? I know it's a sexist thing to say, but they quite literally have no other redeeming qualities whatsoever.
I don't consider it a sign of strength that they're such dimwitted buffoons that I sometimes question how they manage to figure out how to keep breathing.
It's because of the changing of the generations that these 180s are happening. The losers of the culture war of the 60s are getting old and dying, and being replaced by people who grew up after that war was over.
Teabaggers (in their old guise as moral majority, christian coalition etc.) used to demonise Martin Luther King as a communist, a prostitute hirer, a rabble rouser, a liberal race mixer government handout sponger. Now conservatives are reclaiming Kings legacy from the liberals who have hijacked it over the past 40 years.
Women in leadership positions?
Blasphemer!!!!
@ Mudak
"Would Palin or O'Donnell have gotten anywhere as far as they have within the conservative movement if they weren't good-looking?"
One of my best friends is a business-style Republican. The only argument he made in favor of Palin is that she's hawt.
First of all, obviously, when we're talking about women in their 40s Salma Hayek is hot, Palin is not. Second and more importantly, a candidate's looks have fuck-all to do with competence.
I'd prefer watery tarts distributing swords, personally.
She thinks the right-wing doesn't have any creditable female candidates? That's a strange lack of self confidence coming from the superior overlords of the right. However, there is probably more than a grain of truth to her assertions, in that right-wing women seem to be as daft and as repugnant as right-wing men. That's not to say that there might not necessarily be some adequate female candidates for the right, just that they're hiding.
Nevertheless, it's interesting to know that she considers a woman candidate to be a liability. Not only that, her waffle is really an abject and weasel-worded way of saying that any female right-wing candidate will not have the intellectual rigour, nor the political experience, nor a sense of humanity, nor the savvy with which to tackle criticism from opponents without looking like a complete donut. Again, there's something to that view that rings true.
My irony meter just burst into flames. Thanks a lot jackass.
Also, if the best you guys can do with female canidates is O'Donnel or Palin, then nobody else has to do anything shut those idiots down.
O'Connor, a bitch that doesn't even remember first admentment gets political power.
Then we have Palin, that has done more stripping than actual politics that actually did something.
So, a "strong woman" = someone who doesn't play victim, liberal, or man hating feminist, and conservatives don't think to, or actually limit women's roles in society?
LOL WUT
Oh, and I don't think you should worry about the Republican Party nominating a female presidential candidate if it stays the way it is. I just don't see it happening myself either. I'm betting that Sarah Palin won't get the Presidential nomination because it would upset the conservative base.
You know I bet the democrats would have done better in the election if they had pointed out that they passed the Equal rights for women thing.
But nooooooo... They didn't, they must have wanted to lose.
@Mister Spak
Ironically The entire GOP has put all their eggs in that one basket, once they're gone... Sure some of the older Generation Ys will lean right but they won't become the moral majority crowd anymore.
Like the left hunted down and destroyed Lisa Murkowski and Olympia Snowe? Sure, we might oppose them, but then again they *are* in the other party.
We don't hate Sarah Palin because she's a conservative woman, but because she's either a dangerous demagogue or an idiot, if not both.
Occasionally, I wonder if the Right puts forth women like Palin and O'Donnell as candidates in order to be able to say, "See, this is why women shouldn't be allowed outside of their traditional roles."
Liberals don't seem to have a problem with women in politics or even just outside the home. In fact, the idea of women being able to vote, work, run for office, etc is a liberal position, while keeping them in the home under the authority of men is a conservative one.
Yes because Hilary Clinton, Dianne Feinstein, various other women Democrats are really secret Republicans [/sarcasm].
Democrats pass the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, the only Republicans to vote where Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, Kathryn Hutchison of Texas, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska (notice something about these four Senators?) and Arlen Spector of Penn in the Senate. Every other Republican Senator voted against it. So why would a woman want to be a Republican?
Read this as well:

In case you can't tell by the address, it's from Gallup and it shows that women are more likely to be Democrats. Regarding Palin, all the smart women that I've talked to that are true moderate Republicans (a dying breed) hate Palin with a passion calling her an idiot and will vote Democrat if she's the nominee for president in 2012.
Wow...just, wow. How do leftists hate women? TO that I just say:

As others have already said, isn't the real die-hard conservatives who think women are brood-mares for the state who should spend their lives(when not dropping a kid) standing at the stove. And also, um, "man hating feminist"? So I guess that means I must hate myself because I'm a feminist and last I checked I'm a male...I mean, I stand to pee and everything!
What hypocrites. Why is it that, when a fundie wants to smear the political left, they accuse them of being "intolerant" of the political right? As if fundies themselves were paradigms of forgiveness and acceptance!
@#1225731
Oh, right it's Sarah Maid of Albion whose opinions are worth about as much as an actual pile of shit.
On behalf of piles of shit everywhere I would just like to say that they're offended by you comparing them to these opinions. They would also like to inform everyone that unlike Sarah Maid of Albion, they at least have some use as fertilizer.
"Only Conservatives love strong women"
Strong enough to bear fourteen kids and clean, wash and cook for every one of them!
Only Conservatives love strong women...a preferred ethnic minority candidate.
Quote mash-up retort: How about Oprah for 2012? She's strong, wealthy, very influential, and an ethnic minority to boot!
(Yegads, as fun as that was, there's no way I could vote for the "Big O" as Leader of the Free World. She just makes my skin crawl. Sorta like Simple Sarah does!)
Oh yes, the Conservatives just love strong women. You're a big Nadine Dorries fan aren't you? As if the blog wasn't enough evidence by itself that Maid Sarah is an irredeemable twat, she pens this kind of no-relation-to-reality guff.
In fact, and much as I hate to say this, I do not believe the Right should choose a female candidate for 2012. Only Conservatives love strong women
Hold on you hate to say 'select a woman candidate to lead' but you love strong women???

"Hold on you hate to say 'select a woman candidate to lead' but you love strong women???"
No, she says she hates to say that the right should not select a woman. The quote's daft enough as it is, no need to twist it about.
Confused?
