As a believer, I had always thanked God for putting these things here for our enjoyment, but you say there in NO God. Well ok then, if that's the case, do me one small favor.

Would you please tell me the name of the HUMAN responsible for putting all of the above mentioned wonders here for us to enjoy. I would like to give him my personal thanks and apologize for not giving him his just dues in the first place. Please include his address, phone number, and e-mail address if possible.

First, if you please, could you explain why your loving god created natural disasters, birth defects and epidemics? Don't tell me that these things exist because Adam and Eve ate a piece of fruit. In addition to being grossly unjust, there is nothing in your bible to substantiate this assertion. And don't try and say that these things are "the devil's work." Not only is that not substantiated by the bible, but it begs the question of who created the devil.

Now, perhaps you can explain how you can give praise to such a god. Said god seems to have taken good care of you, but what about the millions of people who suffer from impersonal tragedies like earthquakes and plagues? By your own ethos they are no more deserving of their agony than you are, we're all sinners, remember? Or is it that you don't care about others as long as your needs are satisfied?

Example: A majestic mountain range. Many people would call this beautiful, won't they?

Not so in the middle ages. In the middle ages, people viewed mountains as ugly. Mountains were a major hassle. They blocked trade roads, it was very dangerous to cross a mountain range. The higher plateaus were useless because you couldn't grow crops there. After all, a mountain is nothing but an ugly pile of rocks, isn't it?

To see a mountain as something beautiful had its break-through in victorian times, when rich englishmen discovered the new sport of alpineering.

Beauty is something man-made. When we enjoy nature and other beauty, it's us who reflect our own experiences and culture in it. What somebody sees as beautiful, somebody else might perceive as ugly.
