Say what? Evolution is a FACT!? Not even close. Well, I guess that depends on which type of evolution you mean, macro or micro. Microevolution is definitly a fact, macro is pure conjecture with NO evidence to support it. Micro being changes within species, macro being changes from one species to another. It is nice to keep wishing and hoping that evidence will show up to support macroevolution, but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe someday, but doubtful. There is no fossil evidence, no scientific evidence, no evidence of any sort to support macroevolution. That is why I have finally come to my senses and rejected it as fact and placed it where it belongs in the realm of a religion. A lot of belief with no proof. This is hardly a "FACT". Does having a lot of scientists believe it is a fact make it so? Hardly. Scientists thought the sun revolved around the Earth. Or better yet, PILTDOWN MAN was considered a fact for some 40 years. Or Nebraska Man. That was a good "fact" for awhile.

Oh, by the way, about equal time in school, creationism is NOT a "fringe" belief. It is held by the majority of the world population. Evolution is a fringe belief since it is held by the minority. Of course I guess all those people without PhDs don't count.

Describe and show valid, documented scientific evidence for the mechanism that prevents many, many, many, many "micro" evolutions from becoming a "macro" evolution.

What you're saying is like telling me that I can walk to the end of my block but I can't possibly, no matter how many steps I take over any length of time, ever walk to the other side of the country. Ever.

TalkOrigins. Search the archives for "speciation". Read. Check the sources. Understand. Then come back and tell me with a straight face that there's no support for it.

Evolution ("micro" and "macro") has been thoroughly proven over the past 149 years. And the theory is supported by biology, micro-biology, botany, ecology, genetics, geology, paleontology, embryology and zoology. The majority of the world's population believes in invisible spirits and supernatural creators of one sort or another. This hardly legitimizes creationism. Evolution is not a "belief." And it's not that all those people without PhD's don't count. It's that the scientific opinions of those with PhD's are considerably more authoritative. (Oh, and scientific errors have always been uncovered by scientists, not by "all those people.")Read a book.

Macro is just an awful lot of micros, stupid. If you start out with flour, yeast, salt and water, you've got a pizza dough. If you then add different things, it will stay a dough for quite some time, but it will quickly stop being a pizza dough; if you add chocolate, sugar, vanilla and raisins, you will have a cupcake dough. The dough has changed from one kind (or species) to another kind (or species) of dough.

We're not hoping or wishing, the evidence is there already, mountains of it. You have finally thrown your senses right out the window, stupid. Scientists don't believe it's a fact, they know it's a scientific theory, as close to fact as you get in science, and it’s tested and retested and scrutinized and tested, over and over and over again. Anyone who found a valid flaw in it would be world famous, but no flaws like that have been found yet.

Religionists thought the sun revolved around the Earth, they even killed a few scientists who dared to disagree. Science is what found out that those two hoaxes are hoaxes.

You're completely deluded, numbskull. Only the uneducated and the willfully ignorant believe in creationism, and it's not one single version, each religion has its own creation story. Everyone with at least a basic education and an open mind knows that scientific theories describe the world.

Before I found this site and read all the stupidity here, I had no idea that anyone refuted basic biology.
I think you'd be hard put to find anyone in Europe actually believing cretinism over evolution.
Some might believe both things, one as science and one as faith, but most know the difference between mythology and facts.

As to equal time in school. Over here, religions are taught in Religion classes and science is taught in many different Science classes (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, History, to some extent Social Studies and Home Economics).

I don't have a PhD and neither do a majority of Europeans. But (almost) everyone past grade five knows and understands the basics of biology.
