Theres no doubt in my mind that God would not let his word be altered in any way he did not want it to be. If Sodam and Gomorah were struck dead just 4 lying, then why can't some monk be struck dead?
EA, that is exactly what I believe. That all birth defects and any illness is directly related to a specific sin. The word says that we will be cursed down to our 4th generations I believe. But through prayer and confession it is possible to break curses.

I don't see how deserving death makes us worthless, though. If we were truly worthless, there would be nothing to save, or moreso, nothing to burn in the first place.

You know scientists and all you people that straddle there coat tails are missing a huge fact...the earth was unable to support any form of life as we know it today around or even millions of years after we supposedly started evolving from the single cell organism...and what the hell makes anyone think we can evolve from apes or monkeys or anything ellse that are dna doesn't match? our blood and genetic makeup is just not compatible , and that makes all the differance.

I saw NOTHING on the other site to prove anything about the age of the earth. They saw the 'telltale signs' of the light from the earliest stars. How am I supposed to be able to prove/disprove what they are saying when I don't even understand?

Ultimately, my religious views can't be wrong, because the words were breathed out by God in the original manuscripts. Your religious views however, can be wrong, because you are taking the doctrine of fallible men and trying to make them infallible (the essence of the 'theory,' not the details).
I am taking the Gospels for what they say... I have Mormons come over to my house, firmly convinced that the Book of Mormon is literally true, although history spites on this claim and is why I will never be a Mormon. Good for them I say, continue on in faith, I will continue on in reality.
Byt its very definition you cannot make a scientific theory of something that is not 100% provable.

Macroevolution suggests that, over millions of years, dogs could evolve into horses. And apes (or fleas, if you believe the tabloids) could one day slowly transform into men.
Scientific evidence is just speculation. Remember these are the same people who gave you the flat earth theory back in the day.
