Call it 4D chess or call it buffoonery or somewhere in between but Trump has always had the effect of expanding the Overton window. Personally, I think this is the most important attribute to consider when judging him. No doubt, how he comes off most of the time sure leaves a lot to be desired from a statesmen perspective, but long neglected issues are finally being aired out, which in turn has increased protection to the masses. Specifically to this conversation, anti-vax or anti-crime sentiment has change from being socially forbidden to seemingly the majority opinion, which makes it energetically more difficult to violate the will of the people. Hard not to be thankful for that.

As to who Trump plays for - this moment certifies to me that Trump's heart is with the people.
