Black Lives Matter (BLM) is, at the top, a Marxist-Maoist-Leninist trained and led revolutionary movement in the United States, and it could be argued that it is partly responsible for the billions of dollars of damage to U.S. businesses that resulted from the riots in the summer of 2020. The New York Times reported that BLM “may be the largest movement in U.S. history” and Newsweek reported that more than 1,500 Minnesota businesses were damaged in the George Floyd protests.

In an interview for the online magazine Dazed, and responding to a question about what skillsets are required to build a movement, Cullors stated that her training was “scientific”. She said she spent a year in the National School for Strategic Organizing which was led by Eric Mann’s Labor Community Strategy Center and that she spent “the year reading anything from Marx, to Lenin, to Mao…” During this training period, Cullors was actively recruiting people into the organization that was training her.

Both Cullors and Garza are confirmed as Marxist, Leninist and Maoist educated and trained. What about Tometi? I was unable to find an article saying Tometi is a trained Marxist likenher colleagues. However, Tometi attended the Left Forum as a speaker. That forum brings together people on the far left political spectrum including Marxists and communists such as Patrisse Cullors (BLM), Alicia Garza (BLM), Medea Benjamin (Code Pink) and Slovj Žižek. The forum’s history dates back to the 1960’s when it was called the Socialist Scholars Conference.
