We’d need one food animal, so cows, pigs, chickens, fish, OR grasshoppers. Wouldn’t need two
We’d need a plant for the food to eat. So, Grass would be sufficient.
Oooh! Like the space stations in scifi! One water plant, one land plant. One species of fish that eats the water plant, one species of animal that eats the land plant. Salamanders that the fish. One species of worm to aerate the soil. One species of insect to spread the plant’s pollen. One species of bird to control the insect population. The usual brace of rotters for waste and corpses.
