Now, not only does God’s Word explain the world as it is today, but observational science confirms it. Also, the Bible makes it clear that if we search after truth and really want to know God, He will reveal himself to us. And He will make clear the free gift of salvation that He offers to us.

"My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And> lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding" (Proverbs 2:1–6)

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6)

Dawkins Is Against Indoctrination . . . Really?

Recently atheist Richard Dawkins stated, “There is a balancing act and you have to balance the rights of parents and the rights of children and I think the balance has swung too far towards parents.” Of course, what Dawkins means by this is that parents have been given too much of a right to teach their children their own religion. He goes on to say, “Children do need to be protected so that they can have a proper education and not be indoctrinated in whatever religion their parents happen to have been brought up in.” So children need to be “protected” from religion by having a “proper education” so they won’t be “indoctrinated.” But Dawkins believes that children should be taught evolutionary naturalism as fact. He wants his religion of naturalism imposed on them. So children shouldn’t be taught religion by their parents—they should be taught the religion of atheism by their teachers! All Dawkins is advocating is replacing one religion with another religion. You can’t raise or educate children “neutrally.” There is no neutrality! When you take away supposed “religion” (which usually means Christianity when Dawkins uses that word), then all you have done is replaced it with another religion—the religion secular humanism.

In an article for Time magazine, Dawkins writes, “Religious labels [on children] . . . at very least . . . negates the ideal, held dear by all decent educationists, that children should be taught to think for themselves.” So Dawkins thinks that children should be taught to think for themselves? Should children be allowed to think for themselves when crossing a road, or when jumping into a swimming pool, or when putting their hand on a hot plate on the stove? Should children be potty trained or just allowed to think for themselves?

Does Dawkins mean that children should be taught the major problems with evolution? Does this mean that children should be shown the evidence that supports the Bible’s history? Does this mean that children should learn the difference between historical and observational science? Dawkins definitely wouldn’t think so! By writing that “children should be taught to think for themselves,” what he really means is that children should be exclusively taught a religion of atheistic, evolutionary naturalism—and no other options. This is not education or teaching kids to think through issues for themselves—it’s indoctrination, but indoctrination in a false religion! So Dawkins wants to do the very thing that he says parents shouldn’t do!

Dawkins also writes, “Indoctrinating your opinions into the vulnerable minds of your children is bad enough.” So Dawkins thinks that indoctrinating children is wrong. Yet he wants to do that very thing! He just wants to make sure that children are only taught his religion! Dawkins is being utterly inconsistent.

(part of Ken Ham's response to the video titled “Mr. Deity and the Atheist”)

I submit that Dawkins is shaking his fist at God, because he refuses to submit to His Creator and recognize it is God who sets the rules. He refuses to acknowledge that man is a sinner in need of salvation. And because God has made it evident to us all that He exists and has written His law in our hearts (Romans 1 and 2), Dawkins is, in essence, putting his hands over his eyes and his hands over his ears. He is really shouting at God saying, “I refuse to see. I refuse to listen!” How we need to pray for this very lost soul!

Really, billions of years and evolution are an anti-God religion, and we must recognize them as such. Satan is very clever and is using the same attack he used on Eve, the Genesis 3 attack of “did God really say?” to make people question God’s clear Word. Ultimately, he wants to lead people to reject God entirely, like Dawkins does. This is why it is so important to stand on the authority of God’s Word from the very beginning, give solid answers, and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to a dying world.

We can trust God’s Word because it was written by a God who never lies (Titus 1:2), and it’s confirmed by what we see in the world. I encourage you to stand boldly on the truth of God’s Word from the very beginning and refuse to compromise with man’s ideas. I also encourage you to equip yourself with solid answers from God’s Word so you will always be ready to give an answer “to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15).

Ken Ham #fundie blogs.answersingenesis.org

Recently, atheist Richard Dawkins appeared in a short video titled “Mr. Deity and the Atheist.” In this very mocking video Dawkins speaks with a character playing God named “Mr. Deity,” and gives reasons why God doesn’t exist. “Mr. Deity” replies to his accusations, but his answers are even more mocking than Dawkins’ claims and are clearly attempts to make fun of God.

Dawkins tells Mr. Deity, who clearly is supposed to be representing the biblical God, “You know, it seems to me that if you really want to be useful you could do us all a favor and simply vanish.” Dawkins’ rationale for this is that, “The whole of your precious creation was made by evolution and you didn’t have to lift a finger to help it along. You’re completely redundant, not just lazy. Even if you weren’t lazy, there’d be nothing for you to do.” Dawkins claims that evolution has destroyed any need for God because we don’t need a Creator to get us here because everything can be explained naturalistically. Really, Dawkins has placed his faith in his religion of evolution and millions of years.

He adds, “And what’s more, we have science now, making you completely unnecessary.” By “science” he, of course, means evolution, which is historical science. This kind of science deals with the past and is therefore not directly observable, testable, or repeatable. Now, to prove his point that science has made God unnecessary he says, “Do you know that we just used science to do something truly amazing and quite difficult? We landed a probe on a comet.” Here he has done what so many secularists do. He’s used a bait-and-switch. He says that “science” (unobservable historical science) has made God redundant, but then he uses an example from “science” (observable, testable, repeatable operational science) to prove his point! But historical science and observational science are not the same thing!

Actually, it’s only because God exists and because His Word is true that we can even land a probe on a comet. You see, the universe is governed by laws of nature. But in a random, material universe that supposedly arose naturalistically, where do set, immaterial laws of nature come from? And what makes these laws operate the same way tomorrow as they do today? There are no real answers to these questions in an atheistic worldview. But there is a Creator, and He set the laws of nature in place at the beginning. And we can trust that these laws will work the same tomorrow as they did today because our unchanging God upholds and sustains the universe (Hebrews 1:3).

Dawkins’ comments should stand as a warning to those who compromise with man’s ideas of evolution and millions of years. They are opening the door to compromising with the rest of God’s Word. After all, if you can’t trust God’s Word in the very beginning, then where do you stop doubting? If we can’t trust God’s words in Genesis, then why should we trust God’s Word in the Gospels?

According to the website of a group that promotes faith in these Norse gods, these people are basing their beliefs on their ancient heritage and culture.* Yet the original Viking heritage involved raping, pillaging, and plundering others. Of course, these neopagans don’t want or promote a return to that. But it was the Christian influence that put an end to these actions! So why are they rejecting Christianity and bringing back part of their religious heritage but maintaining Christian—not Norse—principles of morality? Well, because these neopagans are being utterly inconsistent!

(part of Ken Ham's response to the attacks in Paris)

Now, many of the people who are rightly decrying this violence are some of the same people who deny God’s Word—such as atheists. But the only reason that we can ultimately say that what the terrorists did was wrong is because we have an absolute authority. If there is no ultimate authority, then why can’t everyone simply do what is right in their own eyes? Without the Bible as your authority, you have no foundation from which to denounce terrorism as an evil. But when we start with God’s Word as our ultimate authority, we can say that terrorism is wrong because God commands us not to murder (Exodus 20:13). Also, terrorism is wrong because each person is specially created in the image of God and therefore each person has inherent value and worth. Scripture clearly links creation in God’s image to the command not to murder (Genesis 9:6).

What this world really needs is unity on God’s Word! We need to acknowledge God as our Creator, recognize that each of us has a sin nature, and that we need salvation through Jesus Christ and sanctification by the Holy Spirit to conform our desires to God’s Word. Unity through Christ is the only way that this sin-cursed world could ever see true unity (Ephesians 4:11–16).

I encourage you to pray for the French during this tough time. Pray that they will come to understand their need for a Savior and the true unity that Christ brings.

Ken Ham #fundie blogs.answersingenesis.org

More than three million people gathered in Paris and around France for a peaceful march to stand in opposition to terrorism and to show world unity. This march comes after the horrific terrorist attack on the satirical publication Charlie Hebdo magazine last week in Paris that left twelve people dead.* Sadly, Paris also saw more terrorism later in the week when four hostages as well as a police officer were killed. We are saddened by these tragic attacks and our hearts go out to the family and friends of those who have been killed.

[...]

While we certainly understand the world wanting unity at such a troubling time, the sad reality is that there won’t ever be true unity in a sin-cursed world. You see, Scripture says that “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9) and Genesis tells us that man’s heart is wicked from childhood (Genesis 8:21). Sadly, “an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil” (Luke 6:45). Without the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit at salvation, we will only continue to produce evil.

We also must remember that we are in a spiritual battle, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” A spiritual battle can’t be fought with human weapons, only spiritual ones (Ephesians 6:13; 2 Corinthians 10:3–5). Sadly, while the world wants unity, they are starting from the wrong foundation in trying to achieve it. True unity can only be found in Christ.

(Ken Ham's response to each of the “10 Atheist Non-Commandments")

1. Be open-minded and be willing to alter your beliefs with new evidence.

Romans 1:18–23 tells us that everyone—including atheists—knows that there is a God, but that many suppress this truth in unrighteousness. These atheists need to have their eyes opened to see the truth that is clearly evident in all that God has made—there is a Creator, the God of the Bible.

2. Strive to understand what is most likely to be true, not to believe what you wish to be true.

Second Peter 3:5–6 says that no one is an unbiased seeker of the truth but, rather, that those who reject the history of the Bible do so willingly: “For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.”

3. The scientific method is the most reliable way of understanding the natural world.

Scripture makes it plain that the scientific method is not enough to understand the world around us because there is a spiritual reality. But a person without God’s Holy Spirit cannot properly understand the world because spiritual things are discerned only by those who have God’s Spirit, “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14).

4. Every person has the right to control of their body.

Second Peter 2:19 says it all, “While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage.”

5. God is not necessary to be a good person or to live a full and meaningful life.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) and “the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Also, I think of this verse: “So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God” (Luke 18:19).

6. Be mindful of the consequences of all your actions and recognize that you must take responsibility for them.

In an atheistic, evolutionary worldview why should anyone even care about the consequences of my actions, as long as it doesn’t hurt me? And why do I have to take responsibility for my actions? According to evolutionary thinking, we are just animals. No one punishes a lion for killing an antelope, so why should I be responsible if I decide to take the life of another “animal”? But we are not animals, and each person is responsible and accountable for their actions—accountable to their Creator, the Judge (2 Thessalonians 1:7–10).

7. Treat others as you would want them to treat you, and can reasonably expect them to want to be treated. Think about their perspective.

This is a biblical—not an atheistic—principle. See Luke 6:31–36. To be atheistic, a secularist should say that you can treat others however you want to—there are no boundaries.

8. We have the responsibility to consider others, including future generations.

Again, this is a biblical principle (John 13:34; cf. John 3:16 and John 15:13). Now, from a biblical worldview it makes sense that we are responsible to our Creator for how we treat others, but in an atheistic worldview what, or who, gives me any responsibility to consider others? Isn’t evolution supposed to be about the survival of the fittest? If you die and that’s it, why does it matter how I treated others while I lived? In order for atheists to say that we are responsible for how we treat others, they have to borrow from a biblical worldview!

9. There is no one right way to live.

Who says that there is no one right way to live? By what authority can they say this? And if there really is no one right way to live, then what is the point of this list about how atheists should live? And, by saying this, they are declaring that their way of living is superior to those who would disagree with this statement! Actually, there is only one right way to live—by living with the life that Jesus offers (John 14:6).

10. Leave the world a better place than you found it.

In an atheistic worldview, why should we have to leave Earth better than we found it? Who defines “better” anyway? If life really is the result of evolutionary processes, then life should be about the strongest surviving and the weakest dying and that certainly doesn’t imply that we should care about the world. Here, yet again, the atheist is borrowing from the biblical teaching of stewardship (Genesis 1:28, 2:15).

These 10 Atheist Non-Commandments are meaningless in an atheistic worldview because they are not grounded in anything. The issue of morality is an insurmountable problem for an atheistic worldview. But in a biblical worldview having 10 Commandments makes sense because we have a Creator who made us and who therefore has the right to set the rules. And God has revealed those rules and absolutes to us through His Word. Only in a biblical worldview does morality make sense!

Ken Ham #fundie blogs.answersingenesis.org

The authors of a new book on atheistic living held a contest in which they invited secularists to submit their suggestions for “10 Atheist Non-Commandments.” (By the way—isn’t it interesting that they are doing what the devil has been doing since Genesis 3: trying to counterfeit what God has done?)

According to CNN, this contest received 2,800 submissions from 18 different countries. But really, what is the point of atheists writing up a list of non-commandments? What is a “non-commandment” anyway? They have no basis for their moral views other than their own opinions, which can vary from atheist to atheist on certain matters! Without an absolute standard given by our Creator, atheists have no foundation for their moral beliefs, as the name “non-commandments” implies. Morality simply becomes “everyone doing what is right in their own eyes” (Judges 21:25). Of course, these non-commandments are just a mockery of the commandments handed to us by our Lord and Creator. Another verse that sums up what these increasingly aggressive atheists in our culture are doing is this one:

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20).

Bill Nye ends his video in a way that surprised me:

"We told a story the way you might do if you had too many Jell-O shots."

In case you don’t know what a Jell-O shot is, it’s a way of consuming alcohol. Is Nye saying that if someone had too much alcohol, that evolution is the type of story they might tell?

Well, I agree he told a story, using the word story in the way many define it today: a fairy tale!

Christians have a very different view of origins, of course. But it’s not a “story.” It’s a true account of history. I teach children that the Bible is “the history book of the universe.”

How about reading Genesis 1–2 to your children and sharing with them the true account of origins?

Yes, Bill Nye’s new video is a great teaching opportunity—for parents to help their children not be indoctrinated by the fairy tale of evolution.

Ken Ham #fundie blogs.answersingenesis.org

As you continue to watch the video of Bill Nye telling an obvious fairy tale, you will hear him explain how “imperfections” are what enabled life to evolve more “complicated things!” Explain to your children that only slight imperfections in our genes (because of the effects of sin) can cause major problems! Think about some of the sad consequences of imperfections in human genes that result in disabilities, degenerative diseases, and so on. In other words, Bill Nye is claiming that life was built on a series of imperfections—this is nonsense! Imagine a child being told that the more mistakes they make in mathematics, the better their math scores will be!

Notice that he says the key to evolution is time. He states, “The key to this is time, time, time, time . . . ” This is why he goes on to dismiss that the earth can be young and makes a claim that it’s 4.54 billion years old. You can explain to your children at this point that really the belief in billions of years is part of Bill Nye’s worldview—or religion. You see, children can easily see that complicated life can’t be built up on the basis of mistakes, and also that life just can’t come from non-life. So how does Bill Nye even try to get people to believe his fairy tale? Well, he has to get people to believe in billions of years. You see, to believe a process that is unbelievable, you have to get people to believe that given enough time, “somehow” (that’s the word Bill Nye used) it could happen.

Bill Nye is really saying that “somehow,” given his belief in billions of years, life evolved.

And then he states, “Get a mirror, take a look at yourself. We are all a result of evolution.” In other words, he wants kids to look in a mirror and say something like, “I’m a result of billions of years of processes involving imperfections that ‘somehow’ made me by natural processes and there is no God involved.”

Ken Ham #fundie blogs.answersingenesis.org

Bill Nye “the Science Guy” of TV and debate fame has produced a short video that’s on YouTube (and was promoted through various media outlets) supposedly to explain evolution with what’s called Emoji!

Now the video has had about 1.3 million views. And you might be surprised when I tell you that I think it would be a good one for you to sit down and watch with your kids—so that you can clearly show them that evolution is just another fairy tale. And Bill Nye makes it so obvious.

As you start the video, you will hear the following:

Molecules just happen . . . Well somehow, probably with energy from the Sun, these molecules hooked together and accidentally found ways to reproduce themselves.

Yes—“somehow,” “probably”—Bill is using the right sort of words as he explains his fairy tale.

Let’s look closely at Nye’s statement: “These molecules hooked together and accidentally found ways to reproduce themselves the same way crystals reproduce if you leave them alone for a while.” Now at this stage, you need to explain to your children that the formation of crystals has nothing to do with the origin of life—absolutely nothing! We read the following in an article on the AiG website:

Answers in Genesis molecular geneticist Dr. Georgia Purdom has observed . . . “Once again we see scientists claiming that matter plus energy equals the first steps towards life. . . . But all the matter, energy, and ‘spinning crystals’ in the universe won’t cause life to come from non-life. Life requires information and thus, an information giver. The only one capable of creating and encoding this information is the Creator God.”

The wonders of nanotechnology, made more feasible through the physical properties of active matter, may revolutionize technology. But they will not enlighten our understanding of our origins. If we want to understand how the physical world and the living things in it operate today, scientific experiments and observations can show us. But the origin of living cells (and all other kinds of biological life) is a historical question that can only be correctly answered on the basis of the completely truthful testimony of the only eyewitness, the Creator.

Ken Ham #fundie blogs.answersingenesis.org

The only reason that anyone can be moral is because God’s law is stamped on their hearts:

for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them.(Romans 2:14–15)

This moral law is often masked or darkened because of our sin nature, but the remnant of God’s law is still visible on the hearts of all. Just as everyone knows—whether they admit it or not—that God exists (Romans 1:19), so do they also know God’s moral law. That’s why even those who reject God can lead “moral” lives—God’s law is written on their hearts. This is also why everyone is “without excuse” (Romans 1:20). When atheists participate in some moral things—such as wearing clothes or telling the truth—they are proving the truth of God’s Word and confirming His existence.

Ken Ham #fundie blogs.answersingenesis.org

It’s important to understand that even though atheists and agnostics can be “moral,” they have no ultimate authoritative basis for their morality. When an atheist or agnostic calls something “right” or “wrong” or “good” or “evil,” they are borrowing from a biblical worldview in order to make that statement. Think about it: If we are simply the by-product of evolution and no better than animals, then why should anyone behave morally? In that case, what or who defines right from wrong? Ultimately, this kind of thinking leads to “everyone doing what is right in his own eyes” (Judges 21:25), which is exactly where our culture is rapidly sliding.

Ken Ham #fundie blogs.answersingenesis.org

The goal of this name changing is to help students “recognize and celebrate the gender diversity of all students” and to “challenge students to think more expansively about their notions of gender.” Really, what this handout is encouraging teachers to do is to destroy any distinction between male and female. This is a natural outcome of a culture that has rejected the Bible as its foundation for thinking in every area. As our culture continues to reject Jesus Christ and move further away from basing its thinking on the solid foundation of the Word of God, we continue to see more of everyone “doing what is right in his own eyes” (Judges 17:6). And our culture seems determined to make sure the next generation follows suit.

This type of thinking has serious consequences. If man is the ultimate authority, then why not just discard gender? And, for that matter, why not just make marriage whatever you want it to be?

Now gender distinction for humans is so important that in the very first chapter of the Bible, which is foundational to the whole Bible, God emphasizes this gender distinction.

......

God has clearly revealed to us in His Word that gender is not something we can choose to discard. When God created mankind, He made them male and female (Genesis 1:27). It’s only concerning our spiritual state in Christ where there is no male or female distinction, as both are equally made in God’s image and equally valuable in His sight (Galatians 3:28).

Males are neither inherently superior nor inferior to females, but males and females are different. And that distinction becomes particularly important when marriage is in view. Secularists are desperately trying to teach our children that gender is an arbitrary choice rather than a part of who they are designed to be. Yet according to our Creator, each person is designed to be either male or female. And that same Creator stipulated that marriage is a union of a man and a woman. By erasing in children’s minds their identity as male and female, then when they grow up, the ideas of gay marriage and homosexual behavior and any other aberration will seem to be valid and acceptable choices on their menu for life. But man is not the ultimate authority—God is! The Son of God who came into this world to die for the sins of men and women and boys and girls affirmed that from the beginning that being “male” or “female” has been a part of each person’s created identity.

We, as followers of Christ, need to stand firmly on the Word of God and teach our children the truth about gender and marriage. Gender is not a social construct—it is part of who we are because it is a creation of God’s that has been present from the beginning. Neither is marriage whatever you want it to be. God created marriage at the beginning so only God has the right to define marriage.

......

We also need to teach our children that sin has affected the human race—not only our spiritual state but physically also. Certainly, there are those (an extremely small minority) for which sin may have affected their physical development in some way relating to their sexuality. (See “Feedback: Hermaphroditism.”) Such people need our understanding, love, and care. Also because of the sin that affects us all, some people might be tempted more easily than others in regard to blurring the gender distinction or suffer some confusion or dissatisfaction with the gender God clearly created them to have. But then we all to need to believe God’s Word that:

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

As a teaching exercise for your family, if you have a Bible program on your computer and can do a search on when the words male and female occur in the same sentence, you will be able to see reference after reference in regard to all sorts of human matters where God clearly uses the male and female distinction in regard to humans.

Our children desperately need to be taught the true history of the universe. And every child needs to be taught that he or she has been specially and wonderfully designed, even before they were born (see Psalm 139:14–16), as male or female in the image of God. I encourage you to bring your children to the Creation Museum to help them develop a biblical foundation—remember kids are free in 2014 with a paying adult!

Georgia Purdom #fundie blogs.answersingenesis.org

What a potent reminder of the fallen nature of the world we live in. We know that death and disease are intruders into God’s originally perfect creation, and we are right to work to reverse the effects of the Curse brought about by man’s rebellion. As Christians work to study diseases like this one or give money to support research for cures, they are seeking to love their neighbors and serve them. They are walking in the footsteps of Jesus, who healed many people of their diseases and called His disciples to do the same. Supporting medical research is one very practical way Christians can love others as Jesus did.

But there is a moral concern that comes with supporting research: should a Christian give money to an organization that would seek to find a cure by violating biblical ethics? In the specific context, the ALS Association that is promoting the frigid challenge promotes an unethical search for a cure. Many researchers are willing to use embryonic stem cells and cells taken from “electively aborted” fetuses to search for a cure.1 Undoubtedly, some of the money generated through this challenge will end up supporting these forms of research in one way or another. While it is difficult to make direct connections between the money you give and which trials those dollars go to support, the ALS Association does provide funding for research involving embryonic stem cells, including from aborted children.

Later, she says:
While it is great to raise awareness of this disease, the ALS Association and some of the researchers they support are willing to destroy lives in order to attempt to save lives. This is not an ethical position that a Christian can consistently hold. In light of these concerns, I want to urge you to be careful about whom you offer donations to, especially when it comes to medical research.

[but, as with the Josef and Jason Lisle quotes, these people see NO problem in killing kids if they think their god orders them to!]

Ken Ham #fundie blogs.answersingenesis.org

I’m shocked at the countless hundreds of millions of dollars that have been spent over the years in the desperate and fruitless search for extraterrestrial life. Even Bill Nye “the Science Guy,” in our recent debate, happily gloated about tax dollars being spent toward this effort. And now, secular scientists are at it again.

Of course, secularists are desperate to find life in outer space, as they believe that would provide evidence that life can evolve in different locations and given the supposed right conditions! The search for extraterrestrial life is really driven by man’s rebellion against God in a desperate attempt to supposedly prove evolution!

A UK news site recently reported, “Aliens are out there. We’ll find a new earth within 20 years.” Recent technologies have developed new space telescopes that will be used to study exoplanets (planets orbiting other stars) with the hope of discovering habitable, earth-like worlds that might contain life—at least that is what they hope for!

You see, according to the secular, evolutionary worldview there must be other habited worlds out there. As the head of NASA, Charles Borden, puts it, “It’s highly improbable in the limitless vastness of the universe that we humans stand alone.” Secularists cannot allow earth to be special or unique—that’s a biblical idea (Isaiah 45:18). If life evolved here, it simply must have evolved elsewhere they believe.

The Bible, in sharp contrast to the secular worldview, teaches that earth was specially created, that it is unique and the focus of God’s attention (Isaiah 66:1 and Psalm 115:16). Life did not evolve but was specially created by God, as Genesis clearly teaches. Christians certainly shouldn’t expect alien life to be cropping up across the universe. (There are other theological problems with intelligent alien life that you can read about here)

Now the Bible doesn’t say whether there is or is not animal or plant life in outer space. I certainly suspect not. The Earth was created for human life. And the sun and moon were created for signs and our seasons—and to declare the glory of God.

And I do believe there can’t be other intelligent beings in outer space because of the meaning of the gospel. You see, the Bible makes it clear that Adam’s sin affected the whole universe. This means that any aliens would also be affected by Adam’s sin, but because they are not Adam’s descendants, they can’t have salvation. One day, the whole universe will be judged by fire, and there will be a new heavens and earth. God’s Son stepped into history to be Jesus Christ, the “Godman,” to be our relative, and to be the perfect sacrifice for sin—the Savior of mankind.

Jesus did not become the “GodKlingon” or the “GodMartian”! Only descendants of Adam can be saved. God’s Son remains the “Godman” as our Savior. In fact, the Bible makes it clear that we see the Father through the Son (and we see the Son through His Word). To suggest that aliens could respond to the gospel is just totally wrong.

An understanding of the gospel makes it clear that salvation through Christ is only for the Adamic race—human beings who are all descendants of Adam.

Many secularists want to discover alien life hoping that aliens can answer the deepest questions of life: “Where did we come from?” and “What is the purpose and meaning of life?” But such people are ignoring the revelation from the infinite God behind the whole universe. The Creator has told us where we came from: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1; Nehemiah 9:6). And He told us what life’s purpose is: “Fear God and keep His commandments” (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

The answers to life’s questions will not be found in imaginary aliens but in the revelation of the Creator through the Bible and His Son, Jesus Christ, who came to die on a Cross to redeem mankind from sin and death that our ancestor, Adam, introduced.

We need to start proclaiming the authority of God’s Word from the very first verse—even on the subject of alien life! For more information on the supposed existence of ETs and other common questions about a biblical worldview, I encourage you to order The New Answers Book series from our bookstore. Or for witnessing purposes, we have a booklet that can be ordered in bulk with special pricing to help teach people the truth about aliens and UFOs and promote the gospel for your local church or youth programs.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Well, the secular world is catching up to what the Bible has taught all along. At our student assemblies over the years, I have often taught children the answer to this chicken and egg problem this way:

“What came first: the chicken or the egg? Well the Bible teaches us that God made the flying creatures on day five of creation, and God told the animals to be fruitful and multiply. So obviously the chicken (a bird) came first, and then they laid eggs.” So the kids would learn it this way, “The chicken came first because God made the birds on day five of the creation week!”

Of course there is also the design issue, which is also alluded to in the article. All the parts/chemicals etc. have to be there for the egg-laying system to work in the first place—it certainly couldn’t evolve.

The interesting thing is that at the Creation Museum, people actually learn about both creation and evolution. However, I don’t see secular museums teaching people about both. Also, science curricula we publish teaches children about both creation and evolution. Public schools won’t even let students hear about the problems with evolution, let alone teach them about creation. So who is really doing the brainwashing?

God has made an almost incomprehensibly complex creation for scientists to study. Though lots of questions remain, two things are clear. One, true science powerfully confirms the literal truth of Genesis chapters 1–11. Two, evolutionary stories are fatally flawed in explaining the cosmos, the rock layers of the earth with their fossils, and the origin and diversity of living things. Of course, that is no big surprise, since the Bible is the inerrant propositional revelation of the Creator.

(After complaints that he visited the Pentagon):

The military is now one of the most “politically correct” places in the USA. Not only do Christians have the freedom to meet—but so do Muslims, Hindus, and almost any other group you could name. Of course, if I had been a Muslim and went to the Pentagon to address a Muslim prayer breakfast, I’m sure PZ Myers would not have ranted against that—it is only Christians one is allowed to be intolerant of nowadays, it seems.

The real world is the biblical world—a universe designed by God with the Earth at the spiritual focal point, not an evolutionary universe teeming with life. — Extraterrestrial life is an evolutionary concept; it does not comport with the biblical teachings of the uniqueness of the Earth and the distinct spiritual position of human beings.

[Anonymous fundie giving feedback on AIG's "educational" material]

I just wanted to write to you and let you know how well used your DVD’s are in my home. For Christmas we gave our son — (age 4) the Children’s DVD package. Since then, almost daily, he will ask to watch “Dinosaurs - Genesis and the Gospel”. Not only will he watch it, he and his sister—(age 6) will be riding in the car and quoting from it. One of his favorite lines is: “When someone says millions of years, Ask them, Were you there?”

[and Ken Ham is wondering...]

It is sad that the militant atheists like Richard Dawkins actually call this “a kind of child abuse”—yet, such secularists want millions of children taken through a public education system where they are indoctrinated to believe in naturalism–atheistic philosophy.
