Someone said we should legalize gay-marriage because it will bring money to san francisco. Let's also legalize all drugs - sales tax, prostitution (more tax), murder(1000/body)... Some things are simply wrong. Issue at the table is NOT about rights but culture. and when minority (estimated 200 thousand households among 40mln Californians) is forcing their culture down majority throat through courts decisions, majority will speak up. Because this is what gays do - they force their agenda on me through courts. Do NOT compare it with race movement. it was WHITES who started war over slavery, not blacks. If slavery was not removed, there would have been no "I have a dream" speach (to clarify - I am happy that speach took place!). Comparing gays agenda to race would be same as imaging that blacks started our Civil War - they did not. In any case - San Francisco is up for big surprise in Novemeber. Now all of you who are supposed to die for my right to disagree with you - give me thumbs up.

So you are telling me that the culture of group A, which is native and larger in population, is more important than group B, which is new and smaller? Alright, let's apply this elsewhere: the slavery issue in early America (it was your idea, both of them were). In the South, the culture was that blacks were enslaved by the whites and sold as property. The black population was less and they were newer to the land than the white slave owners. So, with these facts in mind, is it your opinion that the white slave-oriented farming culture was more important than the rights of the black slaves? Watch yourself, you already look a fair bit passively racist.

Moreover, no culture will be lost except that which is oriented around hatred and bigotry. And that is the sort of "culture" we can stand to lose.

Yes, please! With the legalization of drugs we could devote all that DEA money to our woefully underfunded education system.

I find this difficult to believe. There is no way gay people could squeeze that kind of stuff into a schedule already packed with raping Christians, spreading disease, and corrupting children.

That's nice. But the courts have an obligation to uphold the rights of the MINORITY. Why do you think buildings have to shell out thousands to make their buildings handicap accessible? It's just the minority, isn't it?

I understand your outrage. It shouldn't be legalized for financial benefit, it should be legal because it's right to grant homosexual relationships with the same rights as heterosexual ones.

Well making them illegal sure isn't doing a damn thing to prevent them...not to mention it's making them all the more dangerous. Call it retribution if you wish, I prefer methods that do NOT end in the people who fall into the lifestyle dead.

Because as I see it, it's heterosexuals (or people who identify as heterosexual, but I digress) who beat us in the streets, took away jobs, and generally went out of their way to instill fear and despair in us. Seriously, how the fuck do you get that? You seem to be forgetting decades of open victimization we have suffered before we finally stood up and demanded that you stop browbeating us. Yes we went through the courts, only because you people refuse to even have a passing aquaintance with reason, and hold onto old prejudices and stereotypes as justification for denying us a life WE choose to live (as in choose to live a life that is not a lie, marrying a woman to appease the Joneses in a sham marriage, etc.)

Oh, my poor, poor deluded friend. You misunderstand. When Voltaire said "I may disagree with what you say, but I will die for your right to say it," he didn't say we had to sit blithely by and smile placidly. We have a equal right to stand up give you a verbal bitchslap, and tell your uninformed ass that you have no right to force your beliefs, YOUR AGENDA on us. I will die for your right to freedom of speech, but I still have the same right to call you a blight on the face of humaity as a whole.
