Any priest who can sanction this evil has no Gospel to preach. Jesus taught that He and He alone can save sinners from hell. Sodomy is a sin. Unrepentant sinners go to hell. Too bad Williams is so New Age that he can't see the hoof prints of the horned one in the Blasphemy of these false teachers participating in the Eucharist. The Telegraph comments should confirm to all those who love the Truth that
a - the world has not changed -
b - the Church of England is a false Church - it is in fact the Church of the Antichrist and those who think unrepentant homosexuals will inherit the Kingdom of God are the false teachers we are warned of in Jude.
c - Christ will return soon.
The hatred for the Apostle Paul is sufficient to know that the doctrine of these men is the doctrine of demons.

Yes, it has. Drastically.

The "false teachers" in Jude are the Gnostics; Jude was a rabidly anti-Gnostic text written some time in the 2nd century CE.

Do you mean the hatred for the Paul who wrote Romans or the "Paul" who wrote Titus?

Hebrews was written during the doctrinal wars of the 2nd century CE and we have no idea who wrote it.

Homosexuality is as much of a sin as lying, eating shellfish, and being jealous of other people. I assume that if you don't repent for all of these, you're going straight to hell, right?

I was unaware that one had to do anything but accept the J-man to get through dem pearly gates. But, apparently, you need to constantly ask Jesus for forgiveness whenever you work on the Sabbath, say his name out loud when not asking for his forgiveness, or oggle the pretty ladies on the T.V. screens. Remember, if you are unrepentant for these undeniable evils, you will go straight to TEH HELLZ!

Anyway, in conclusion: you're religion sucks, and is actually a construct of Satan, made to deceive you into thinking that he hasn't had the game rigged from day one. Also, for the lulz.

Isn't Baal an ancient mesopotamian fertility god? It's not like they were serving satan or anything...

Baal is a god who was worshiped to one degree or another all over the Mediterranean. Including by the ancient Hebrews (the name "Jezebel" is a reference to Baal in the same way that Hannibal is). When the Israelites went into their heavy monotheist phase they broke all the temples of Baal in their areas, but the Phoenicians and Carthaginians for example still worshiped him for centuries.

Baal really just means "chief" and was a chief god all over the place. As monotheists flipped out about that sort of thing, he gradually became identified with being the "chief enemy" and thus Satan. Hence Satan ends up with ram's horns in deference to the Baal of Carthage who was a ram god.

Of course, Satan is supposed to be Lucifer (Venus), who is an angel (and thus beautiful), who being a Cherub (which is just the Hebrew word for Shedu or Sphinx) should have a fully human head and the body of a lion coupled with a bunch of wings. But whatever, Christian fundies are pretty vague on their history and theology. I doubt a single one of them could tell you why they think Satan is a big red dude with horns. It's certainly not in their book.

- Jesus said nothing about homosexuality. Modern scholarship is showing very satisfactorily that the understanding of the texts purporting to condemn homosexuality are being distorted in their interpretation by those whose prejudice is served best by such distortion. - See the link above and try to read with an unprejudiced eye,if that be possible to you. I suspect, though, the argument may be too subtle to get past the determined unwillingness of any fundamentalist to break with prejudice.

- Actually, he said he would do it during the lifetime of those to whome he was speaking... That was two thousand years ago. I don't this you should hold your breath.

- Paul never met Jesus. He pretended to have had a vision. I could do the same. The seers at Fatima, Lourdes and elswhere say they saw the Virgin. Do you believe them? Paul is in the same situation. Possibly he was epileptic.
