It doesn't matter to me if I have free will in Heaven or not, I make myself a slave to Christ.

I don't think Jesus Christ wants you as his slave, after all He gave you the ability of free will. Use it please.
Yes D Laurier., when I saw his posted name, I believe my irony meter had exploded.
Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators the creator seeks--those who write new values on new tablets. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest.

"It doesn't matter to me if I have free will in Heaven or not, I make myself a slave to Christ."
Anything so that you don't have to take responsibility for your life, huh?
It's a good thing their imaginary sky boyfriend isn't real, can you imagine being that guy? even with infinite patience, having these idiots fawn over you constantly would probably drive you to the brink of insanity.
And yet here we have another funditard happily throwing away the greatest gift they believe their god gave humanity. It's one of the biggest things I don't get about fundies. God gave us free will, but he wants us to ignore his gift and follow him like a bunch of mindless sheeple? This is just one of many reasons I'm agnostic. I believe in god, but the Christian version is just twisted and watered down in such a way I want nothing to do with it.
And in walks Jesus all kitted up in a leather bustier and crotchless panties, clicking his stilettos against the cold tiles as you bend over for him to slap that riding crop across your bare, quivering buttocks.
So the difference between you and a fanatically loyal, Kim-Jong-Il-loving North Korean is...?
Oh right, you can't see or prove the existence of your tyrant. And your tyrant can be a tyrant if he wants, because he's infallible, and superhuman!
Please.

It may be a poe, but I doubt it. There is a persistent slogan in fundamentalist circles that perfect freedom can only be found in service (or slavery) to Christ. Yes that line is practically taken word from word from a certain book by George Orwell, but it seems to be popular nonetheless.
Of course, why their god needs slaves in the first place is something they do not seem to be interested in answering.
So, God says to you, "Free Indeed, I'm giving you the greatest gift imaginable: free will. The ability to carve out your own destiny. And you can do it here, in Heaven, the paradise I created for you."
And you're going to say "No thanks, God, I'd rather be a slave."
Sounds rather awful to me. I mean, look at it this way: a parent devotes 18+ years to raising a kid. Feeds, clothes, educates him, everything that's expected and more. Bought him some nice clothes for a new job, gave him some money for the security deposit on an apartment, etc etc etc ad infinitum ad nauseam.
And the kid says, "Thanks, Mom and Dad, but I'll stay here with you guys. I promise to help out with the housework, though." Don't you think the parents would be pretty pissed?
Christ is a myth for the pathetically, miserably, dismally stupid.
Here we find yet another example.
"There is a persistent slogan in fundamentalist circles that perfect freedom can only be found in service (or slavery) to Christ"
I actually understand the whole "slavery is freedom" thing to an extent; it's the same sort of thing as BDSM. If you don't like BDSM you probably won't get it, though.
Who's your earthly master, the cult leader who exploits you, claiming to be speaking for the alleged divine? Who enslaved you in this very life? What if there is no afterlife and you've wasted this life, your only life, sacrificing it for vanity?
If your real concern is the message of love of Jesus, it doesn't have to be about slavery and you don't need to be in a cult. You could try to do some good in the world, today, like charity.
Confused?
