i have to laugh when i hear all these so-called science freaks talk about how evolution is a fact in a given matter. try understanding the phrase.... " theory of evolution." for those who need help.. a theory is an unproven idea without facts to support it. all the so-called facts you talk about keep changing in content & context as science discovers that they have to adjust their thinking to save face. prove that evolution is a hard & given fact, without a doubt & maybe you'll be doing something worthwhile. up to this point, i hear nothing but rederick without facts.

According to the National Academy of Sciences,
Some scientific explanations are so well established that no new evidence is likely to alter them. The explanation becomes a scientific theory. In everyday language a theory means a hunch or speculation. Not so in science. In science, the word theory refers to a comprehensive explanation of an important feature of nature that is supported by many facts gathered over time. Theories also allow scientists to make predictions about as yet unobserved phenomena.[1]
A question, though, who the fuck is rederick? Sounds like a porn star!
rederick?
Oh, rhetoric....right?
Dalton1 comes out of the closet and reveals to the world that he speaks from his ass.
Check your definitions, n00b, before you decide you want to be FSTDT star.
"a theory is an unproven idea without facts to support it"
You fail. You set yourself on fire while microwaving a pop-tart in its wrapper, you jump out the window despite the open door right next to it, roll on the grass, setting fire to your lawn (due to having recently watered it with gasoline), which spreads to your house, while you jump into your car, speeding down Main Street at 120 mph. After driving for 37 seconds, you run into a telephone pole, become electrocuted, have your vehicle explode, and are resuscitated by the paramedics while still aflame. You immediately thereafter jog back to your still burning house, run in, and spend three hours trying to figure out "a three letter word for canine" on a crossword puzzle. You pass out and wake up at the hospital, still unable to solve the crossword puzzle answer, and, then you drown in a bowl of alphabet soup shortly after spelling out the word "rhetoric" incorrectly with the noodles. You had previously let your little eight year-old brother write your will, so all of your possessions are given to one "Bruce Wayne" of Gotham City. And your tombstone, by the doctor's discretion, reads "He died as he lived: drowning in a bowl of soup". Your grave is promptly vandalized and your corpse stolen and used as coat rack by a psychopath who lives in an abandoned thrift store.
Metaphorically speaking, that is....
i have to laugh when i hear all these so-called science freaks talk about how gravity is a fact in a given matter. try understanding the phrase... "theory of gravity." for those who need help.. a theory is an unproven idea without facts to support it all the so-called facts you talk about keep changing in content & context as science discovers that they have to adjust their thinking to save face. prove that gravity is a hard & given fact, without a doubt & maybe you'll be doing something worthwhile. up to this point, i hear nothing but rederick without facts
makes about as much sense.
To quote Stephen Hawkings
"a theory is a good theory if it satisfies two requirements: It must accurately describe a large class of observations on the basis of a model which contains only a few arbitrary elements, and it must make definite predictions about the results of future observations". He goes on to state, "any physical theory is always provisional, in the sense that it is only a hypothesis; you can never prove it. No matter how many times the results of experiments agree with some theory, you can never be sure that the next time the result will not contradict the theory. On the other hand, you can disprove a theory by finding even a single observation which disagrees with the predictions of the theory".
i have to laugh when i
read your rederick
I am quite happy that 'theory' can be translated as 'Lehre' in German. This has more the meaning of 'teachings' than 'theory'.
Anyways, can anybody tell me what a proven idea with facts to support it should be called? dalton 1? Please?
"" theory of evolution." for those who need help.. a theory is an unproven idea without facts to support it."
WRONG!!! FAIL!!! THANKS FOR PLAYING, TRY THE POTATO SALAD!
Dalton? DALTON? How DARE you profane the name of the Queen's Wizard? ...granted, he was pretty wimpy and useless, but he had more sense than YOU. The Golems will eat you for that, you know.
Oh, and as for what you said... no. Just no. Go away.
I move that we redefine the scientific definition 'Theory' to...well "Law"'s taken...is principle up for grabs? How about "Certainty", or maybe just go absolutely clean with it and use "Fact" instead of theory since they're nearly interchangeable (in science)? Seriously, it's getting annoying that these creationists are unable to understand the concept of homenyms.
You fail in your attempt to define theory. That initial failure makes everything else you say a house of cards that I'm gonna' blow down in a huff.
You're not doing too well with spelling either. What is rederick? I've never heard that word before. Maybe if you can define that word someone might be able to see where you're coming from.
I'm sure it's been said already but--
The theory of evolution does have proof supporting it, and what proof do you have to what you're insisting is fact?
Ok, in honor of your souchebaggery, I will start calling it the 'fact of evolution' or, as I've been calling it, 'evolution'.
Evolution, like other well-established, simple, observable part of science such as optics and electrical theory, will probably be around for a long time.
You might call them science freaks, but that does not mean anyone else does. To use the phrase "so-called", lots and lots of people ought to call it that on a daily basis.
Rational and thinking people always adjust their reasoning when they learn more, discover new things. Not to save face, but to make use of the new information.
What's "rederick"?
" a theory is an unproven idea without facts to support it"
Actually, thats just about the opposite of what "theory" was before idiots like you decided that every wild and half-assed idea qualified as a "theory".
Not quite. Evolution is a fact, and has been observed. That is what we have to explain.
Evolution models are theories, based on facts, and constantly bettered thanks to new evidence.
Anybody's got the science/faith flowcharts?
You can't seem to spell "rhetoric", and you don't grasp what a theory is (So, how about that 'Theory of gravity', Dalton?). Hush, child.
REDERICK
It's just too good!
That word you use, it does not mean what you think it means.
Back when you had to find your own food people this stupid didn't make it.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
