lol you guys don't understand anything. I have 7 associate degrees and 6 certifications and a bachelors of science in computers. You guys don't understand anything when it comes to critical thinking. I was in geology, anthropology, chemistry, biology, and all the them. I know how evolution works. You guys just can't accept the doubt there is within this belief. I don't care if there's nothing science can fill it with. I rather it be nothing than for it to be a lie like "macro" evolution. I stand by what i say. So far animal species have only decreased. There were more animals in the past that have now become extinct. We started with a lot and now ended up with less now not due to evolution though. You can see fossils of 500 million year old crabs the same as now. The fossils evolution supporters don't want you to see. The fossil record is against evolution of anything. I've debated many times. It can go on forever. Endless battle. Just leaving it at that. I don't care about any foundations of your beliefs if you want it to be apes. If you can't accept it being false then that's your problem.

And yet, you write like a complete illiterate.
Wow. Imagine that.
I was in geology, anthropology, chemistry, biology, and all the them.
"How many degrees do you have?"
image
"ALL of them!"
Oh yes, Conker, and how much did you pay for each of these, er, 'degrees'?
Well I have two doctorates, four professorships and was recently voted supreme overlord of science for the tenth year running.
And I think you're a 'tard.
I have 7 associate degrees and 6 certifications and a bachelors of science in computers.
I have an associate, bachelor and master degree in electrical engineering from a top private school in the country.
I still don't spout looney about things I have no idea about.
Oh yeah? Well I have eleventy-thousand phDs in biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, paleontology, quantum nutrition, unregulated anti-matter vortexes, and other fields that make me a great scientician! And I say that the universe was created when a transdimensional rhino ate a bad batch of undercooked dark matter and crapped out the universe. If you can't accept it being true then that's your problem.
"I have 7 associate degrees....""
You're kidding, right? Most of an AA degree is general ed courses, which have absolutely nothing to do with any declared major. What did you have? A handful, if that, of classes in each subject for which you have an AA?
Clearly, none of those degrees are in English.
You fail at lying.
Or...
You fail at being a poe.
I have six master's, hold a proffessoreship at Princeton, won a nobel price and am currently nomitated again ... see, I can make up shit too!
Why did you even bother with college, you sound like one of the Santorum followers who think education is not important! Looks like you notice it comes in handy when establishing credability, though, I don't know anybody who would think that an associated degree (or 7 of them) makes them an expert. I actually don't know anybody holding 7 associate degrees!
You do know that "I'm educated!" is not a real argument, right? Also, there is a difference between being open to adjust one's views, should new evidence prove them wrong, and exploiting this ever-open possibility to say that you're free to claim anything you like with equal value. And stop the bullshit please.
You'd think all those degrees would go somewhere towards making paragraphs, or a logical point, or providing evidence, or ACTUALLY UNDERSTANDING EVOLUTION. It works, bitches. You don't need any more proof than that, but if you want it, you got it. This entire argument over evolution is solely and exclusively based on the sheer willful ignorance of Internet-warrior asswipes like this guy.
As an aside, if this guy has legitimate degrees then I am the Queen of England.
And I have a doctorate. Got it from the finest diploma mill I could find.
I've got a handful of certifications. Those are easy to come by.
A BS in Computer Science as well. From a real school.
I was in geology, chemistry, biology, and physics. Took a class in each in high school, and a few semesters in college.
All my education points to one fact: you know nothing of evolution.
Starts his post bragging about qualifications that aren't related to the discussion and are probably fictional to begin with.
Good to know I don't have to listen to anything else that follows.
Also I see most of your degrees are either two year associates or four year bachelors degrees, meaning you probably only took 100 level general ed science class, so don't baw your eyes out if I decide that someone who has a Masters or PhD in just one of those fields happens to be a bit more knowledgeable on those subjects than you are. But if I need someone to sell me RAM at Best Buy I'll know who to look for.
The fact that he uses the term "macro evolution" tells me that Conker doesn't really know anything about evolution. In addition, the letters that would come after your name wouldn't be worth the ink they're printed with if, as I suspect, you got them from some PO Box in Texas.
Prove to us that any biologist or paleontologist has ever tried to hide any fossils, except briefly, before their discoveries are published.
BTW, the fact that scientists are still making discoveries in fossils that were collected in the 19th century does not mean anything has been hidden- it just means that there's a hell of a lot of material to work with.
"I have 7 associate degrees and 6 certifications and a bachelors of science in computers"
Reading this reminds me of my favourite song by the Thompson Twins, with the lyrics "Lies, lies, lies, YEAH!"
Why on earth would anyone have more than one AA degree? Isn't it just something you get, if you have to, so you can go on to a real four-year college and attain a real degree in your area of interest?
I have a googleplex of degrees in every field known to man. I'm a Professor in each, in everything from Xenoanthropology to manchildistic studies (my current project involes studying the mating habits of bronies).
Did I mention that I'm only twelve, and I have a super fast car that I'm allowed to drive because I'm so special plus Beyonce for a girlfriend and a really, really big willy?
Yeah, didn't believe me, did you? How ironic.
Also, did I tell you that I think you're a twat?
@fmitchell Thank you for posting that strip. There is so much truth contained in that picture.
"I have 7 associate degrees and 6 certifications and a bachelors of science in computers. You guys don't understand anything when it comes to critical thinking. I was in geology, anthropology, chemistry, biology, and all the them. I know how evolution works."
...And yet you weave this spiel. What have you been doing, major-hopping? Actually, have you ever set foot in a college campus at all, or did you get your degrees off of some degree mill on the internet? I'm hoping the latter, because it seems all that work has gone to waste. That is, if you could even call it work at all.
You have that many degrees and certifications and bachelors, and you can't even distinguish between then and than? What's your first language? Mine isn't English.
Macro evolution is a creationist lie, not a scientific one. The difference between micro and macro is the same as between a few steps and a walk.
There have been numerous mass extinctions that have each left the field open for new kinds of animals, which have then filled up the Earth, the niches left empty after the mass extinction. The number of animals is fluctuating, stupid.
A species perfectly fit for its niche has no inclination to evolve, until the niche changes. If the niche doesn't change - no evolution.
You spewing stupid strawmen is not a debate, it's the very opposite of a debate.
The foundation is scientific evidence, which you ought to know if you have all these degrees, bachelors and what-have-yous.
Argument from authority.
Fuck off.
O RLY????? I don't believe you.
Oh, and similar fossils mean that the organism was-and still is-extremely adapted to its environment.
[I have 7 associate degrees and 6 certifications and a bachelors of science in computers. ]
Good for you. You've been to atleast seven different community colleges and you were too stupid to advance out of any of them.
That's not something to be proud of buddy.
I have 7 associate degrees and 6 certifications and a bachelors of science in computers.
I have this funny mole-looking thingy on my right buttock, but I try not to think of it.
I'm sorry, but what the fuck has Anthropology got to do with Evolution?
Anthropology is about the study of cultures. It's about human created concepts and the cultures they form, not a natural process like evolution.
I think you are lying, Conker.
I have 7 associate degrees and 6 certifications and a bachelors
I think you mean you have associate degree for which you took seven courses. That doesn't give you 7 associate degrees.
And without trying to sound snobby or elitist, a bachelors degree is the beginning of higher education, not the end.
*sigh*
All it takes is one funtard to say the word "macroevolution" and you get people falling other themselves to prove how little better than he or she they are...
"But macroevolution is a creationist lie!"
The terms macroevolution and microevolution were coined by biologist and evolutionist Yuri Philipchenko, in 1927.
The terms were widely used by Theo Dobzhansky, a pupil of
Philipchenko and co-framer of the "modern synthesis" (also called neo-Darwinism).
"Nothing in the known macroevolutionary phenomena would require other than the known genetic principles for causal explanation"
-- T. Dobzhansky, Genetics and the Origin of Species, 1951.
Of course, where we find Dobzhansky, we also find his co-co-framer, Ernst Mayr.
"Among all the claims made during the evolutionary synthesis, perhaps the one that found least acceptance was the assertion that all phenomena of macroevolution can be reduced to,' that is, explained by, microevolutionary genetic processes. Not surprisingly, this claim was usually supported by geneticists but was widely rejected by the very biologists who dealt with macroevolution, the morphologists and paleontologists. Many of them insisted that there is more or less complete discontinuity between the processes at the two levelsthat what happens at the species level is entirely different from what happens at the level of the higher categories. Now, 50 years later the controversy remains undecided."
-- E. Mayr, Toward a New Philsophy of Biology, 1988.
"But macro- and micro-evolution are the same thing!"
No, there's a technical difference between micro-evolution, which refers to evolutionary processes operating within a species, and macro-evolution, which refers to patterns that emerge as species and lineages branch through time, including the rate and pace of evolutionary change, adaptive radiation, morphological trends in lineages, extinction or branching of a lineage, concepts such as species sorting, and the emergence of major new morphological features (such as segmentation, or shells, or the fusion or loss of bones) {Nick Matzke, PNAS 2007}.
While "microevolution + time = macroevolution" is generally true, it is a broad and imprecise statement. Not all microevolution leads to macroevolution (i.e. morphological change), as the very long lineages of some groups show. Nor even is all macroevolution a product of microevolution, since there are several known instances of new species emerging from hybridisation of existing ones (many of the examples of observed macroevolution listed on talk.origins are of this type). These are cases where the 'evolution' took place above the species level, and it was not a result of the accumulation of small changes over time. Hybridisation is even thought to have played a part in our own evolution .
A second problem with claiming all macroevolution is just microevolution plus time is evidence. We frequently infer "macroevo" from fossil lineages (which we have lots of, hence we win), and can do so with enough accuracy to predict where an when specific intermediates occurred, hence identify the best places to look for them. However we can't show what microevo was responsible for these changes, DNA doesn't fossilise and while parsimonious genetic trees can help confirm common descent in living species they are no help for extinct ones.
So while it is generally okay to say that "microevolution + time = macroevolution", the two terms are not (IMO) exactly synonymous.
It's all evolution, but it's not necessarily all micro/macro-evolution.

"All the them"?! How did you get 7 associate degrees, 6 certifications, and a bachelor's degree, and not pass any of your ENGLISH courses?!
Two things.
1. 500 million years.... At least you are not a young earthy.
2. 7 associate degrees and one bachelors degree? Are you freaking kidding me? That proclaims "goofball" louder than a bullhorn. No matter what the field, if I were an HR person going through resume's and applications, that would be the first one I would throw away.
"lol you guys don't understand anything. I have 7 associate degrees and 6 certifications and a bachelors of science in computers. "
image
Even with Hovind behind bars they sure have been busy in Patriot Bible University !
"I have 7 associate degrees and 6 certifications and a bachelors of science in computers."
Oh my, somebody won big at skee ball...
The only certification you have is the one that certifies you as an idiot.
Beyond that, I can't translate your bullshit into proper English and have given up trying.
"The fossils evolution supporters don't want you to see."
Seriously...? Horseshoe crabs, crocodiles, and coelacanths are denied by scientists, when? They aren't called "living fossils" or anything, of course, right?
Clearly he should have just started off by saying "*I* don't understand anything and been honest... Because, holy shit. Either this guy is really twelve years old or a completely deluded imbecile.
I have a BS, an MS, and two PhDs.
BullShit, More of the Same, Piled Higher and Deeper, and also a degree in Post Hole Digging.
I'm an excellent scientist. Yeah. Dad lets me drive the car in the driveway. Kmart sucks.
I have 7 associate degrees...
Oh, bullshit. There is no point in getting more than one associate's degree. If you really did get seven of them, it means that you spent around 14 years in community college, to which I have to say: LOL.
I know how evolution works.
More bullshit. Using the term macro evolution is an automatic fail. Your biology instructor is probably weeping great soggy tears and wondering where the hell s/he went wrong.
The fossil record is against evolution of anything.
*facepalm* You do know that denial of existence doesn't actually make anything go away, don't you?
"I'm the Doctor."
"Doctor of what?"
"...Of everything."
Though, even Doctor Who is more believable than this guy's sack of BS.
I have a single associate's degree in applied science as a microcomputer support specialist, yet I still understand science way better than you do (I took an astronomy class as my required science class; wanted to take biology as well but there was no room in my schedule). By any chance did some of your degrees come from diploma mills? I got mine from a local branch of a legitimate group of community colleges here in southeastern Illinois (specifically, the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges, or IECC).
I can probably write better as well because I had to take an English class and it was for writing, so I can probably write better than you as well.
Perhaps you're telling a lie as big as Betelgeuse (the star, not the movie character named after the star).
“You can see fossils of 500 million year old crabs the same as now.”
Wait. You KNOW how evolution works, but you think it’s a sticking point if a 500myo crab hasn’t evolved?
Heh.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Yeah, you done been to them collge things.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
