The sad thing is that 'Honor killings' are taking place in the United States. Just recently, a man killed his daughter because she wanted to divorce her husband. Earlier this year, two teens were found dead and their muslim father was suspected for killing them. Why? They wore pants.
And people call me extreme.

You would do the same if you could get away with it. But since you're Bro. Randy you'd probably rape/molest the woman first because she was wearing pants and you couldn't control your sexual urges. And the way you speak about these horrible killings, using them as a setup for a lame joke about yourself just shows what a sicko you are, and that you in fact, feel nothing about and learned nothing from this story about the consequences of a culture that treats women like property. Die Randy, you piece of shit.
The sad things is that honour killings do take place in the name of religion.
IMHO to point that out is not fundie, it is simply a statement of fact and in my case a desire to see universal human rights applied to all people and for this sickening practice to end.
@ Whitespirit: This man doesn't want "universal human rights applied to all." He's using a tragedy that takes place in Islam and using it to defend his own rather extreme attitudes about women who wear pants, think for themselves, etc.
I too am sickened by "honor killings," but coming from a guy like this...he hasn't a leg to stand on.
It's disturbing that Randy needs to hold his own extremism up to one that condones the murder of women in order to make his "position" seem less deplorable. It's as if he's saying: "But I'm better because I don't believe in killing the whores! Look how magnanimous I am!"
And because it bears repeating: putting a piece of dog shit next to a larger piece of dog shit doesn't make it smell any less worse. All of you agreeing with him - he may be the lesser evil, but do you really want to side with him? As someone has already said, two wrongs don't make a right. Randy is using the murders of these women to "prove" how he is so totally not a fucked-in-the-head misogynist, because his particular belief doesn't stretch to murder for wearing trousers. Is that comforting? Not much.
If those things did actually happen, that is just plain horrible. As for him, I am sure, ignoring all the crimes done by good Christians, well...that's just to be expected.
@Greeneyedlilo, I realise that but the statement in itself is not fundie. The fact it came from a mysoginistic fundie moron does not make the comment itself fundie.
If I were to make the same comment, or similar, would I then be fundie?
@Whitespirit
Saying that honor killings are taking place in the United States would not make you fundie. That part of the statement is not fundie.
The fundie part is the "And people call me extreme." Using the murder of two women to make his hatred of women more acceptable is definately fundie. He's pretty much saying "See?! At least I don't think you should kill women in pants."
Ooops! Sorry, I should have made it clear when I posted that it was the final sentance that, given Bro Randy's attitude to women in pants, was the hypocritical bit that I considered warranted the posting here.
McT
Errr...he's kinda right. It's a very, very high bar to get there, but the "Honor Killings" do outstrip Randy's personal misogyny...not by as long of a shot as he'd like to believe, but they do.
Confused?
