"And by the way, I thought it was really cool that he pointed out that the more religious your are, the better your health is."
Citation very fucking much needed!
"Now, instead of passing Obamacare, why didn't we pass a bill calling on people to be more religious and therefore help health over all?"
Because -beside violating the First Amendement and replacing a law that provides tangible benefits with voodoo- such a bill would be a fucking waste of time and money? Or do you sincerely believe that you can mandate genuine faith by law, Dave?
"That's the benefits of using God's word and applying God's word is it does provide tangible, measurable benefits not the least of which is health."
Oh yeah? I suppose you won't mind sharing those measurements with the scientific community, then? What's that, you don't have any? Well, color me unsurprised...
Also, isn't this claim dangerously close to testing God? You should probably be more careful if you don't want to find find yourself on the business end of a plague or lightning bolt, Dave.
@#1529706: uh, you do realize that Ryo was speaking about people who died because their relatives/caretakers denied them actual medical treatment and tried to pray away a treatable medical condition like diabetes/ cancer/asthma instead. Medical science isn't perfect/omnipotent and we all croack in the end anyway, but you can't seriously claim that medicine failing to save someone and not even trying the serious way and relying on voodoo/miracles instead are equivalent, particularly when the problem isn't something that requires a miracle to cure in the first place...
