“Soon enough, the marriage license is going to be just for gays,”
Gives you a hard-on, doesn’t it? “Oh, oh, I’m so persecuted. Persecuted… FOR GOD! AAAH!”
“and hopefully conservative churches will push for a new form of christian marital registration, called the blessed union, and can only be signed by church leaders of conservative churches who still hold that the sanctity of marriage is between man and woman.”
Okay. You do that. G’head with yourself. Have a blessed union instead of marriage.
And when your blessed other is in a car accident, you won’t be able to visit her in the ICU, because that’s a privilege for spouses. Nothing forces the hospital to recognize Blessed Unions.
And after the accident, you get the bills and find that insurance doesn’t cover your Blessed Other. Because the insurance company doesn’t have to recognize blessed unions as equal to marriages.
And right after your Blessed Union, you fill out the form for your Other to take your last name? The courthouse will point out that THIS form is for married couples and the name change is automatic, but since they don’t recognize a Blessed Union, you will need to formally apply for a name change, and get a judge to hear your case. We can put you on his schedule in… Um… Six months?
No one’s going to push you selfish fucks out of legal marriages, and this is why gays want the same rights. But if you want to stomp out of legal marriages in protest, you go right ahead, bubbles.
“And that too, shall be recognized by the government whether they like it or not.”
Well, you’ll have to take them to court. The Federal, State, City governments.
And every hospital, individually.
And every insurance company.
And every school (“Your kids? Where’s the woman who registered them?”).
Any if anyone challenges the will, which you left everything to ‘my wife,’ could get dicey if you didn’t update it to the new, NOT MARRIAGE contract.
“I truly hope churches support us believers of the marital faith of man and woman"
You’re going to preserve marriage by NOT GETTING MARRIED?
That’s hilarious, really.
“and join forces in creating the blessed union document, signed and sealed in the conservative faith.”
Good luck convincing a long string of judges that you have a perfectly valid, non-bigoted reason to eschew the existing practice of marriage in favor of a made-up, non-traditional, virtue-signaling pose… but still insist on all the benefits of marriage…
