This ACTUALLY turns my stomach. When religion alienates a parent from his or her own child, it shows that it has the strongest and most evil power of them all because it has broken the strongest bond that can exist between humans. Disgusting. It actually really disturbs me when I hear people say that they love god more than they love their own CHILDREN (I realize that's slightly different, but it's still an alienation of the parent-child bond). That's fucked up.

Wrong. Satanists (except for the ones in movies and Chick tracts) don't sacrifice people. Those that even believe in supernatural power actually use - no joke - sexual stimulation.
Actually, Fanatic-Templar, not even Satanists would commit such a crime as this. It's sick, vile, horrible and disgusting. They don't believe that ANY supernatural entity is worthy of worship, not even Satan. The left-hand path is more about BECOMING a deity than following one. Now, Satan-WORSHIPPERS -- well they're actually a pretty rare breed. Sick as all hell where they do exist, and that mostly for the shock value, but quite rare.
That said, Satanists actually do have a rather high moral code. Way higher than this turdfest of a person who calls themselves "Beatitude." They strive to become divine themselves. But they tend to operate on a more merit-based system than a lot of Christians do. They do good works for those who appreciate the help, rather than forcing it on those who do not want any. And, if they feel somebody is not deserving of whatever, they simply leave them alone to wallow in their own misery.

As Carl Sagan observed, there are a number of passages in the Bible where children "lay down their life" for their parents (or more accurately, their father) -- but not one where parents lay down their lives to protect their children.
And fundamentalists claim that the Bible is the basis of all morality....sorry, I want nothing to do with that kind of "morality".

I will say that the best interpretation of that "beautiful" passage of the bible is that God was not testing Abraham - Abraham was testing God. If God had demanded Abraham go through with the sacrifice, there'd be a whole other God today.
Of course, that explanation assumes that God is real, but hey...
If God ever told my mom to sacrifice me, she would probably tell God to go fuck himself.
I trump God as far as my mom's love is concerned. And, to me, that's a beautiful thing.
