The earth was NOT populated through incest. If you recall, when Cain was rejected by God, he was literally sent away to a different place. The Bible then says that Cain had a wife. Dude, that obviously means that GOD MADE MORE PEOPLE! The Bible simply doesn't contain details about them. DUH, if you read Genesis chapter 4, it lists Adam and Eve as having 3 sons, and NO DAUGHTERS!

PUH-LEASE...God HATES gay/incest...why do you think He destroyed Soddom and Gomorrah? He wouldn't have the earth populated through incest...sheesh.

Hmm. Well consider that only sons are ever really listed and there's the answer to that one.
Consider also that if the Genesis account is to be taken literally, then God did only create two humans, so the rest of the species would have to have been generated through incestuous "relations". Edit: Perhaps he doesn't consider the story in Genesis to be literal. In that case, why does he consider the story of Sodom and Gomorra(h) literal? And why doesn't he pay attention to what the New Testament states as the actual cause of their destruction? Enquiring minds want to know! Chances are good that he really hasn't thought all of this through yet.

The omission of facts in the bible makes it obvious that god made more people? So, since the creation of man was considered to be his great accomplishment, I guess they just forgot to mention that little detail. But lack of evidence is something the x-tian thrives on so I’m sure some believe that. If I did believe the creation story from the bible, I would/was forced to consider that Eve, being the only woman, was created as the world’s first ho-ma.’ And really now, if this was god's perfect plan, why didn't he make more woman then men? If he was planning on populating the world with his new creature, why start with a bunch of fuck-ups who kill each other, why not start with more 'baby-machines'? Did god just want to see what they would do? did he have a bet with Gabriel on which son would tap that ass after dad was done? Then after that god goes the incest route again with noah's family. Family. All related. In fact drunken nudity among the family started almost immediately. Then there was Lot and his daughters, Onan.... I don't think god hates incest at all. After all, he's called The Father, and watches us all the time you know.

@Sophomore -- That would be femslash and incest, since Arwen's mother, Celebrían, is Galadriel's daughter.

However, that doesn't mean it wouldn't still be really, really hot, just uncomfortably hot.

Also, my relationship to Middle-Earth slash is a really weird one. LOTR was my first fandom, when I was 10/11 and had never heard of slash -- I think I remember being weirded out by the idea of it. Of course, by the time I was thirteen I thought slash was the best thing ever -- just not in Middle-Earth. Now, at seventeen, I ship the following:

~ Aragorn/Legolas (blame the film)
~ Eomer/Haldir (there was this one absolutely brilliant movieverse fic, see)
~ Eomer/Legolas (again, blame the movie)
~ Maedhros/Fingon (cousincest, but fucking adorable)

But I absolutely refuse to ship any Hobbit slash, particularly not Frodo/Sam. I total get why people do, but it just totally weirds me the fuck out.
