Faith doesn't come from science. Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, Jesus (the) Christ.
Science won't lead anyone to Jesus to receive forgiveness of sins and Eternal Life. Only those who seek the LORD with their whole heart, mind, and body will find Jesus, thus finding the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Arguing scientific dogma with unbelievers isn't going to persuade them to believe and follow Jesus. Only the Holy Spirit will draw them to Jesus (the) Christ and enable them to hear the LORD. The Word of God has to be preached with the guidance and anointing of the Holy Spirit alone to lead people to Jesus.
Much like reading the false doctrines that Dave_L and his kind saturate comment boards and forums with, delving into science in search of Truth will only fill a person's head with lies and false information. Be particular about what you read, for it will effect you. Listening to twisted theories which are proposed with the express purpose of denying God's existence is very dangerous, just as dangerous as the false Gospels taught by so many over the centuries.

Like that bats are birds, almost everthing on earth was wiped out by a massive wave of water, or that pi is exactly 3?
...
Oh wait, no, that's you guys.
Damn it, I agree with a fundie!
But we are still on opposite ends; s/he thinks Faith is what you should look for, I think you should follow the evidence.
Evidence-based science is indeed very dangerous for superstition and faith.
Oh, look; Buffy has found Faith:

Since I've never heard God or Jesus speak to me, I guess that's why I have no faith.

This is where you're wrong. If you want to convince someone like me that your religion is true, then you need to scientifically prove that everything in the bible is true, not just spout bible passages at us. Telling people what your bible says is useless if they don't believe in your bible. As an aside, this is also why threats of Hell are useless to people who don't believe in Hell.
But let me guess, you chose this route because you realize you can't argue science, didn't you?
Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, Jesus (the) Christ.
Faith could also come from hearing the words of Muhammad, the Prophet and Final Messenger of Allah.
Arguing scientific dogma with unbelievers isn't going to persuade them to believe and follow Jesus.
But you can't help yourselves, because you feel threatened that, if you accepted modern cosmology, evolution, set theory etc., your faith - sorry, Faith - would come crashing down around your ears.
Faith doesn't come from science.
Faith, in fact, is contrary to science. Faith is belief in supernatural claims without any valid evidence, while science requires valid, observable testable, verifiable evidence from the natural world.
And for anyone who is wondering, this is the root of so much of the baffling behavior by fundies. This is why they will assert forcefully that the Bible is true without giving any evidence. And this is also going to be their downfall.
In order to persuade someone, you need to understand their ideas as well as they do. Fundies have only strawmen and the butthurt cold readings of Paul of Tarsus after losing a debate to a pagan. That's why, after hearing an atheist explain their actual position, the fundy will immediately come in with a distortion.
"Faith doesn't come from science."
You're damn right it doesn't!
"Science won't lead anyone to Jesus..."
Exactly!
"Only those who seek the LORD with their whole heart, mind, and body will find Jesus..."
Yes! People who delude themselves become deluded!
"Arguing scientific dogma with unbelievers isn't going to persuade them to believe and follow Jesus."
So very true!
"Only the Holy Spirit will draw them to Jesus..."
Oh. And you were doing so well. Nevermind. Maybe next time you'll figure out why science will never lead to god.
Reliable historical sources don't lend support to the existence of Jesus Christ. History must be wrong, regardless of any further research that may cast further doubt over whether Jesus was factual. Reality is just a diversion from the truth that is only contained inside one ancient, contradictory book.
"Faith does not come from science". Similarly, science does not come from faith. Listening to twisted religious theories proposed with the purpose of denying science is stupid, but has the added benefit of a high amusement factor, making fundies sound like the supreme assholes of the universe.
"Science won't lead anyone to Jesus to receive forgiveness of sins and Eternal Life."
Actually, with the singularity approaching closer by the year, that benchmark is only a matter of time. Of course, I'm sure that if we ever get the technology that allows us to upload our brains and live forever as computers, you lot will by shouting about how it traps our souls, or some such rot.
I'm sure that this Faith girl, whoever she might be, will more be more likely to "come" after her erogenous zones have been stimulated, rather than from science or the word of Christ. ^_^
Did I miss the point by just enough there?
++"Science won't lead anyone to Jesus to receive forgiveness of sins and Eternal Life.
Well of course it won't. Science is dedicated to discovery and enlightenment. It's done infinitely more to bring us closer to eternal life than your superstitious snake oil has, though.
Listening to twisted theories which are proposed with the express purpose of denying God's existence is very dangerous
In other words, ignore anything that's not entirely about the Christian god.
Confused?
