[Commenting on an article about Jesus Camp]
What an unfair and biased hack job this article is. It's insulting great swaths of folks across America, and portrays things incorrectly. This film was edited to produce a hostile reaction to the camp, and towards Christianity in general. Check out the producers of this film. You Brits have thrown away Christianity the way you are throwing away your soverignty. Your churches are deserted, almost deserted, or being turned into Mosques. Maybe this writer has a hostility towards Christianity because he's from a different religion. Or an athiest. Or maybe he's gay and can't stand the condemnation. Whatever. Just don't believe this bunk. It's mostly because of Chrtistianity that Americans are the most generous folks in the world. Check out the stats.

Actually, Mitzi, Americans are not the most generous people in the world, in neither individual donations to real charities, or in per capita foreign aid. You fail.
Why is it that whenever someone is critical of your religion, they automatically have hostile intents? What if they were actually trying to help? If I were a religion, I wouldn't want that Jesus Camp mess attached to me, like some sort of ugly horrible tumor. That's the kind of thing that really turns people off to religion.
According to UN Figures the following countries give more in foreign aid, as a percentage of GDP, than America:
Norway, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Portugal, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Ireland, United Kingdom, Finland, Germany, Canada, Spain, Australia, Austria, New Zealand, Greece and Japan. Source .
Most generous in the world indeed.
Mitzi, the Transatlantic Shit Bomb.
Jesus Camp? I thought the abuse and brainwashing started much earlier in the child's life.
Yeah, we Brits should be especially grateful for America's generosity in supplying us during WWII when we stood practically alone against the most evil regime the western world has ever seen - oh, wait a sec, you made us pay for it all. Fair, maybe. Generous, no.
Americans? Generous?
Who believes that anymore after New Orleans got destroyed and all anyone could do was whine about the victims?
Some people have been very generous and donated time and money and goods, but mostly the rest of this country just whined.
Ahhh yes, Mitzi.. can't you just see the gooey xstain love dripping, oozing, POURING out of this picture?

"Or maybe he's gay and can't stand the condemnation"...
who's got the right to condemn being gay?
Certainly not this bunch of child-abusers
anyone who teaches their children that planet earth is only 6,000 years old, and that science is "made up" should be slapped. what a bunch of ignorant asses! i found the teaching of ignorance as it pertains to the world of science to be the most offensive part of this documentry. are there no regulations on home school curriculum? that's just sad.
When I watched that film, it was the first and last time in my adult life that I ever wanted to slap a child. And there was nothing in that film that showed those people as generous. In fact it was quite the opposite. They were teaching those children how to be a true conservative christian, in other words, a self-serving asshole.
"What an unfair and biased hack job this article is."
Evven if 'twere so, there's no doubt about the subject of said article. Specifically the film by Rachel Grady and Heidi Ewing. As in a documentary film.
If 'the truth hurts', then the facts destroy. And as a result of this factual documentary , Becky Fischer was utterly annihilated.
...as was Ted Faggard who also appeared in "Jesus Camp", but that's coincidental (and pre-expose too).
"Check out the producers of this film. You Brits have thrown away Christianity"
Good. Because if what you call 'Christianity' is what we have 'thrown away, then good.
The infinite evil you call right-wing Fundamental ist Christianity has no right to exist in my clean, sacred secular UK.
> Your churches are deserted, almost deserted, or being turned into Mosques.
Many are indeed almost deserted, though some are doing just fine. Personally I think it's a great shame when beautiful and historic buildings are lost, whatever their original purpose, but I'm not aware of any being turned into mosques. Homes, offices and pizza restaurants, but not mosques. However I'd sooner see a traditional Christian church become a Moslem masjid than see the building torn down or left to rot.
If you watched "Jesus Camp" and can't understand the critisizm then you have to be a full on right-wing fundamentalist. It's even been reported that some parents who sent their children there were apalled by the programs revealed by that documentary. I mean, praying directly to a cardboard image of George W Bush, Christ on a cracker!
If you'll look (I have) American Christian generosity is only large in opinion polls: Americans THINK they're the most charitable and American Christian THINK they're the most charitable of all. It's that "American Exceptionalism" Right-wingers think is something that should be proclaimed regularly despite real statistics and history that show otherwise.
As for all you fundies (If you saw Jesus camp and support that behavior you have to be a fire and brimstone sect) stop sending Bibles to disastor areas and thinking that helps!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
