Why do atheists deny that God is indeed the author of the 10 commandments?can YOU come up with ANYTHING like?

"Honor your father and your mother..." "You shall not murder." "You shall not steal." "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor" (Exodus 20:12-13,15,16). Those are just four of God's holy TEN COMMANDMENTS which He has made every person of mankind responsible to obey (Romans 3:19).

Atheists foolishly deny that God is the Author of the TEN COMMANDMENTS. They say that they were authored by a human. Some atheists even deny that the TEN COMMANDMENTS exist (Romans 2:14-15).

So, lets assume (in order to prove a point here) that atheists are right. If a human author them (and I speak as if insane), then we know for sure that no atheist, agnostic nor any other unbeliever had sense enough to author them.

Why is that so? Because atheists are OPPOSED to GOD and His Holy COMMANDMENTS. And again, some even say the TEN COMMANDMENTS don't exist. So if a human authored them, it was a person who had far more intelligence than any atheist, agnostic or unbeliever.

However, the deep wisdom contained in the TEN COMMANDMENTS is far beyond human capabilities. The deep wisdom and righteousness contained in them proves their Divine authorship.

Yes, conveniently, they are also the only four that do not amount to "suckle at my divine teat, for it pleases me" or "keep it in your pants". Hard to do better than that. I don't think any society in human existence could come up with such revolutionary ideas as being good to your parents and not killing each other. I mean, nothing in the animal kingdom could possibly come to close to such a divine, God-inspired code of ethics...[/sarcasm].

Also, you are seriously saying "in the event that the Ten Commandments weren't written by God, atheists couldn't have written them, because they don't believe in God"? Please...stab yourself in the skull. Jesus will understand.

The Golden Rule. There, I came up with something not only like it but far superior and much more succinct. Well, I didn't come up with it but, well, you know.

What kind of gibbering idiot says the Ten Commandments don't exist? I say they're not particularly useful but I don't deny they exist.

I fail to see why someone coming up with 10 rather obvious and seemingly arbitrary rules makes them intelligent.

Which "wisdom" is that? All I see, in both sets of the Ten Commandments (didn't know there were two different versions, did ya?) are some obvious rules that any lame brained idiot could have come up with.

I have much higher standards for divinity than you, apparently. If a divine being had to set up those rules they should have their divinity revoked.

An atheist would not come up with the commandments that refer specifically to god or holiness (i.e. you shall not make for yourself a graven image, remember the sabbath day and keep it holy). So that point you (kind of) made is correct. The rest of your post is rubbish. Your own bible makes that clear.

When Abraham and Sarah were in Egypt, he told her to tell people that she was his sister. He explained to Sarah that she was so beautiful that some one might try to kill him over her if they knew she was his wife. Evidently lying wasn't a big concern for Abraham, and the protection of his god was too "iffy" for him.

Anyhoo, the pharaoh took a fancy to Sarah and, thinking she was Abraham's sister, took her for a wife. When he discovered that she was Abraham's wife, the pharaoh was horrified because he had committed adultery. That's right Southern Cross, adultery was reviled in pagan societies, even before the 10 commandments were supposedly given.

Instead of thumping the bible, try reading it. It will really change your way of looking at it.

Which 10 commandments? There are at least two lists of commandments in the Bible, and none of them are 10 in number.
A lot of those commandments are just common sense, and many of them are much, much older than the Bible.

No, we say that many humans came up with similar rules and guidelines over the hundreds of thousands of years that we have existed.

Yes, an atheist would not author the first half of the lists, as those are only about one god and no other gods, no graven images, and other silliness. The rest, as have been pointed out, are just common sense, and have nothing whatsoever to do with any gods, goddesses or other deities.

We are not OPPOSED to God, silly-nilly, we don't see any evidence of the existence of ANY gods. Are you OPPOSED to Quetzalcoatl?
