It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that if you give generally unreliable contraception to hormone-raging teens, presenting sex at their age as acceptable, you will get MORE, not less, blood money for Planned Murder in Da Hood than if you do not.

You could, you know, give teens reliable contraception...

So, fun factoid: I grew up in a small, conservative town that has one of the highest rates of teen pregnancy in the state of California. The reason being: we were never taught about the whole 'safe sex' thing. Yes, we had the mandated sex education. Which was...bad. Like, really bad. Beyond the whole "condoms fail X% of the time, which means you shouldn't ever use them because abstinence," we were told things that were just...so blatantly false.

My favorite story is a lecture that told us, completely seriously, that condoms don't protect against STDs because viruses are smaller than light and can pass through the latex. My friends and I just gave each other the most incredulous looks because...well, we had taken middle school biology...

I don't support abortion because I like murder.

I support abortion because YOU WON'T SUGGEST ANY OTHER SOLUTION! (Except abstinence only education, of course, and we know how that works. And that assumes you want them to know about their own body at all.)

You don't care to save the babbys. If you did, you might actually notice when contraceptives and proper sex ed reduced unwanted pregnancies (and thus, ABORTIONS). You just want to ensure that your version of god reigns, by making everyone conform to your twisted ideals.

And, of course, if someone, heaven forbid, actually makes a mistake (because, you know, SHES HUMAN), you want to ensure that they suffer without end for it, as an example to everyone else. Heck, I'm convinced you'd SHOOT them first chance you get, then say that they are in hell, because in your twisted world, there is no forgiveness. No mercy. No love. Only control and senseless punishment.

And as a follower of god, I refuse to partake in that kind of idea.

Just saying "Don't" to hormone-raging teens, without giving them basic information about how their bodies work and how you can protect yourself against unwanted pregnancy and STDs, is a recipe for disaster, Crazy.

In contrast with CrowFood, I grew up in socialist Sweden, where we were given comprehensive sexual education, from age 11 (if memory serves), and was informed where contraceptives could be obtained. I don't remember any teen pregnancies while I was in school. There might have been one, in grade 12 (aged 19), but I'm not sure. Nowadays, teens can get free condoms, and the abortion rate has been reduced significantly since that started.

Most of the work Planned Parenthood does revolves around providing healthcare for poor NON-ABORTED children, and for poor women while KEEPING-THE-PREGNANCY-GOING, you stupid git! If you close down PP facilities, MORE women will have to have abortions. Oh, and there is little money in the abortion business; your fundie buddies have made it so expensive to run abortion clinics, more and more are closing due to financial problems.
